Today, February 4th, is World Cancer Day. This year’s theme, "United by Unique," reminds us that while every person's journey with cancer is different, we are all united in the fight for a world with better care, more support, and more survivors.

At Fredonia Family Care, we are committed to standing with our patients and their families through every step of their unique stories—from early detection and screenings to treatment and beyond.

Schedule Your Screening: Early detection is one of our most powerful tools. Talk to us about when you’re due for a colonoscopy, mammogram, or skin check.

Know the Signs: Pay attention to your body and don't ignore new or unusual changes.

Support the Community: Reach out to a neighbor or friend currently in their fight. Sometimes a small gesture makes the biggest difference.

Yesterday, Drs. Ashley Houser and Jennifer Bacani McKenney participated in the Kansas Medical Society Advocacy Day in Topeka with the Kansas Academy Fmly Physicians! They heard from many legislators and also Governor Laura Kelly! Governor Kelly even shared a picture of Dr. McKenney speaking amongst the 150 physicians in attendance, thanking the Governor for her service to Kansas!

We are thrilled to announce that Dr. Allen Greiner is joining the Fredonia Family Care team!

Dr. Greiner brings a wealth of clinical experience from KU Medical Center and a passion for community health and is ready to partner with you and your family on your wellness journey!

Allen Greiner, MD, MPH works in the Department of Family Medicine at the University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City, Kansas. He completed medical school and a Family Medicine residency at the University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City. He has been a practicing family physician and the health officer for the Kansas City, Kansas, Wyandotte County Unified Government Health Department for over twenty years. He has received numerous academic and community awards and is the past Board Chair of the Kansas Healthcare Collaborative, a quality improvement nonprofit based in Topeka, Kansas.

For the last ten years he has directed the community engagement program for Frontiers, KU Medical Center’s Clinical Translational Science Institute and leads their rural health programs. In this role he has been working virtually in Fredonia 1-2 days per week since the summer of 2025. His future plans include expanding his rural health work in Fredonia and understanding rural health better across SE Kansas. He has previously served as an emergency room physician at Fredonia Regional Hospital and he is eager to join the local health care community.
