Everyone, meet our newest addition to the Nutrition Specialists of New Jersey Team, Liza! 🍎👩🏼‍⚕️🍏

Hi, I'm Liza Aschettino, MS, RD, LDN. I am a non-diet, weight-inclusive Registered Dietitian based in New Jersey. I am passionate about helping my clients improve their relationship with food for both mental and physical health.

I chose to pursue a career in nutrition to help others better manage their health, inspired by my grandmother with diabetes and cardiac disease. As an overweight child and teen, I too struggled with diet culture and disordered eating patterns. As I got older, I grew more interested in whole foods and the way food impacts our body, mind and prevents disease. I began solidifying my scientific and psychological background from Rutgers University, where I obtained my Bachelor’s Degree in Nutritional Science and a Minor Degree in Psychology. I went off to get my Master’s Degree in Nutritional Science at the University of North Florida.

Since becoming a clinical dietitian, I have experience working with a variety of different conditions amongst many different cultures. My goal for my clients is to transform the way you think about food, in order to help you reach your personal goals. I emphasize macronutrient balance, mindfulness at meal times as well as having nutritious, wholesome foods incorporated into your daily routine. In my spare time, you will see me snowboarding, lounging at the beach, enjoying nature, traveling, cooking or spending time with my dog.

I hope to get the opportunity to provide you with the knowledge and tools to live a less restrictive, more balanced and healthful lifestyle!

My scope of practice includes: Gastrointestinal diseases, Weight Inclusive (WI), Cardiometabolic Disorders (cardiovascular disease, diabetes), Mindful eating, Weight Management, Plant-based lifestyles.
