It might be but we have donuts on our mind!

We recently attended the grand re-opening of the Dunkin Donuts on Route 33 in Farmingdale, NJ and were honored to be a recipient of a donation to support the Hersh Pediatric Center at CentraState. This center combines advanced pediatric emergency and inpatient care in one modern, family-friendly center—offering unmatched convenience, expertise, and comfort for children from infancy to young adulthood. Learn more about the Hersh Pediatric Center. CentraState is grateful to the Lufrankton Network and the Dunkin Joy Foundation for their generous support. 🍩

A Story of Gratitude:
After 35 years serving others at CentraState, former employee Deb Turi-Smith found herself on the receiving end of the same extraordinary care she once gave. “The hospital I served for 35 years saved my life,” she shared. Her gratitude now lives on through a donation and new scholarship fund supporting our nurses. CentraState Healthcare Foundation hosted their 24th Annual Multiple Sclerosis Benefit on Friday, September 19, 2025, at CentraState Medical Center on the Star and Barry Tobias Ambulatory Campus.

A variety of wines, craft beers, and spirits were poured by the distributors of Max’s Beer Wine and Liquor, along with delicious mocktails and cuisine provided by Metropolitan Cafe and Great Restaurants Catering, both of Freehold. Specialty wines were featured from Napa Valley, CA, and a live appeal was hosted by committee co-chairs Vito Cardinale, Carol Stillwell, Star Tobias, and Barry Tobias.

To help MS patients strengthen mind and body, the Linda E. Cardinale Multiple Sclerosis Center at CentraState Medical Center offers MS Wellness Programs, support groups, and educational seminars. Inspired by the impact of these programs, the Multiple Sclerosis Benefit Committee, comprised of MS patients, families, clinicians and volunteers, focused on funding the award-winning 12-Week Wellness Programs for MS patients.

Throughout the live appeal, co-chair Vito Cardinale reminded attendees of the impact of their donations, “My children lost their mother to Multiple Sclerosis, and if these wellness programs had existed for her, it would have improved the quality of her life. And we continue to search for a cure.”

The event raised over $215,000 in support of the Linda E. Cardinale Multiple Sclerosis Center at CentraState Medical Center.
