CPC President & CEO Vera Sansone recently served as moderator for a panel hosted by the New Jersey Mental Health Institute, where leaders discussed how to increase access to care by addressing the social determinants of health—particularly within diverse communities.

The New Jersey Mental Health Institute, a 501(c)(3) established by NJAMHAA in 2000, works to promote quality mental health and substance use disorder treatment while fighting stigma and discrimination across New Jersey.

Helping someone with mental health, drug, or alcohol use can be hard. If someone in your life is struggling, having a supportive conversation can be a big step for both of you. You can’t force someone to get care, so, the best thing you can do for a person is to be there for them and listen without judgment.
