Brazos Place and ADAPT Programs provide inpatient medical detoxification, residential, and outpatient treatment services for adults and adolescents with substance use disorders.

Every year at Super Bowl time, football fans, young and old, are drowned in messages to enjoy the game AND party with Alcohol. Super Bowl Sunday is the 2nd largest beer consumption day of the year, behind only the 4th of July.

People new to recovery, as well as people with established sobriety, are particularly at risk.

We began Super Sober Sunday in 2019 as an alternative to traditional alcohol-centered celebrations of the Super Bowl.

We provide a ballroom (and a kids' room this year) at the Lake Jackson Civic Center with a huge 20-foot TV screen to take in the game. In addition, we provide prizes, food, and tons of fun for clients new to recovery and their families.

Sponsors from around Brazoria County help to defray our expenses with donations of cash and/or prizes, or both.

Brazos Place is a 501c3 tax-exempt organization, and all donations are fully tax-deductible. Please find the form attached to make your donation easy to submit.

See you on February 8th - and thank you in advance for your support of this annual event.

Noticing these signs of alcohol addiction? You do not have to face it alone.

Alcohol addiction can look different for everyone, but many professionals in alcohol recovery programs agree these behaviors are clear warning signals:

Needing alcohol to function in everyday life

Stealing to get enough money to pay for drinking

Drinking multiple times per day or waking with the need to drink

Being unable to stop drinking even when you want to

At Brazos Place, our rehabilitation center can help you make needed arrangements so you can stay involved in your children’s lives until you are able to function as a capable provider again. Our alcohol rehabilitation program is also designed to help you work through painful underlying issues and build healthier habits.

Is someone you love suddenly not acting like themselves? Late nights, mood swings, locking the bedroom door, or avoiding everyone can feel confusing and scary, but there are real warning signs you can look for.

Common signs of drug use or addiction may include:

Physical: bloodshot eyes, impaired coordination, slurred speech, extreme hyperactivity or lethargy, quick weight change, or marks on the skin

Behavioral: lack of motivation at school/work/home, risk-taking, less concern for appearance, withdrawing from socializing, decreased productivity, borrowing or stealing money, avoiding conversations, hiding behind closed doors

Psychological: hostility, anxiety, paranoia, depression, delusions or hallucinations, and compulsive cravings

The most important step is addressing it head-on. Brazos Place can help and has assisted many young people earlier in the addiction cycle to help stop long-term harmful effects and provide relief from drug-related health problems.
