About my practice
I offer Therapeutic Massage to support your optimum health, functionality, vitality, and strength through relaxation, stress reduction, pain relief, alignment, improved sleep, digestion, immune function and more. I use Swedish and Deep Tissue techniques including Myofascial Release, Trigger Point Therapy, Neuromuscular Therapy Cupping & also ScarWork and suggest clinical stretching and strengthening exercises and self care to maintain progress between massages. I’m experienced in massage for chronic pain, overuse and accident injuries, am trained in oncology massage, Scarwork, intra-oral therapy for TMJ disorders, and am a past member of the Maine Sports Massage Team. I also love giving luxurious and beneficial Relaxation massages. My passion is helping people feel their best. I appreciate the uniqueness of each client, with his or her individual nature and love helping them achieve their goals, such as relaxation, pain relief and stress reduction.
I enjoy working with every single client including a variety of populations: athletes, seniors, youth, pre-natal and new mothers, those with chronic pain, injuries and complex medical conditions, people with different abilities and more. In addition to my private practice I work part time giving focused massages for chronic pain, rehab and workplace and accident injuries at the medical office of a Physiatrist (doctor of pain management & rehab). I also work in a Chiropractic office and give massages that loosen tight muscles, support the patients' optimum health and meet additional goals.
I practice Shiatsu, a form of Japanese acupressure, which uses 5 element theory to enhance flow in the body’s meridians, restoring physical, mental and emotional balance. And, I'm a Reiki Master practitioner and teacher. This energy work can be given in a full-body Reiki sessions or incorporated into massage sessions. It's also useful for local contraindications for massage such as contusions & fractures, surgery & port sites, inflammation, blood clots, and lymphedema.
My background in mechanical engineering gives me a feel for the structure and mechanics of our bodies, how they work and how to remedy dysfunction.
