We’re pleased to share that FHN is now part of Mercyhealth! 💙

This new partnership brings together two organizations that share a strong commitment to caring for rural communities and putting patients first. We’re excited to continue serving the same communities you know and trust—now with even greater access to advanced clinical expertise, specialty care and expanded resources.

By joining Mercyhealth, FHN gains additional support that will allow for reinvestment in services, facilities, technology and patient care across our service area. Most importantly, our focus remains the same: providing compassionate, high-quality care close to home.

We’re grateful for the opportunity to continue caring for patients and families throughout northwest Illinois and look forward to this next chapter together. 🏥🩺 Mercyhealth Rockford Region

From the FHN Foundation:
Through your kindness, you deliver healthcare excellence for our communities. Your donations enhance facilities, provide essential equipment, support scholarships, elevate staff training, and offer crucial patient assistance. One of the ways that the FHN Foundation helps to improve patient experience is to provide toys, books, and games to more than 20 departments at FHN who serve children and youth.

When children come into a healthcare setting, they may be anxious, nervous or scared. Giving them an item that can bring them some joy helps them to calm down and makes it easier for the providers and caregivers to treat them.

When people come for the first time to the Foundation Office in the hospital, they tend to be surprised at all of the items that are available for children. Once the toy program has been explained to them, they usually smile and nod, recognizing the positive difference that it makes for our youngest patients.

All of the toys are donated, and we are blessed to be able to distribute them to FHN's departments who present them to the children and families. Next time you are in the area, come and visit Al's Toy Barn!

The generosity of donors makes items like this, that positively impact the health of individuals and families possible! Together, with the FHN Foundation, you can continue to save and change lives, ensuring that health and wellness thrive in our communities.

Remember, 100% of every donation goes for its intended purpose and you can designate your gifts to a specific facility, department, project/program, or give 'wherever it is needed most.' We will use your undesignated donation to assist with our most pressing need.
