C2 Nerve Spotlight : headaches, sinus pain , allergies

Key aspects of the C2 nerve:
Sensory Function:
The C2 nerve's sensory root provides sensation to the back and top of the scalp, the front of the neck, and earlobes, an area known as the C2 dermatome.
Motor Function:
The C2 nerve's motor root controls muscles in the neck, specifically those involved in forward bending of the head.

The C2 nerve, along with the C1 and C3 nerves, contributes to the ansa cervicalis, a network of nerves in the neck.
Associated Conditions:
Damage or compression of the C2 nerve can lead to various issues, including:
C2 Radiculopathy: This can cause sharp, electric shock-like pain radiating from the neck to the occipital region (back of the head).
