Light is an important driver of health. The wrong light can lead to disease. As one of the Ambassadors, Dr. Valerie Giangrande is excited to share information about a FREE Worldwide Circadian Rhythm Disruption Challenge that is starting on October 20.

Check it out. Here is the information:

The CRD Challenge has been created to raise worldwide awareness of ALL of the symptoms and diseases linked to CRD (Circadian Rhythm Disruption).

Decades of evidence shows that CRD is now endemic. It’s implicated in all chronic and many acute diseases across the lifespan. From infancy into childhood, through adolescence, adulthood and older age – your circadian health influences every second of your life!

We strongly believe that it’s time the world felt the full power and potential of a life that’s lived in rhythm, which is what led us to the creation of

It’s a FREE, 21-day bite-sized educational experience designed to teach you how to realign to nature’s rhythms and empower you to take back control over the destiny of your health and happiness.

How different could life be if we all felt healthier and happier as a result of living in rhythm? 🌞🌙👣🌎

Circadian rhythm via the correct light environment is important for every aspect of health.

Circadian timing can either prevent, cure or cause cancer.

The outcome depends on what time your body is sensing every day, Nature's or manmade social time.

Once again, artificial light, especially at night, is detrimental to our health. We, as humans, are not wired for artificial light.

DAYLIGHT OVER ARTIFICIAL LIGHT EVERY DAY

New study shows more reasons you need bright days and dark nights.....

Blood glucose levels were within the normal range (4.4–7.8 mmol/L) for longer during the natural daylight intervention than in the artificial light intervention (59% of the 4.5 days vs. 51%).

The respiratory exchange ratio was lower during the daylight intervention than during the artificial light intervention, indicating that the participants found it easier to switch from using carbohydrate to fat as an energy source when exposed to natural light.

Per1 and Cry1, genes that help control circadian rhythms, were more active in natural light than in artificial light.

Resting energy expenditure and core body temperature followed similar 24-hour patterns in both light conditions. Serum insulin levels, measured during the MMT, were similar in both light conditions but the pattern of serum glucose and plasma free acids was significantly different between conditions.

The results, particularly the better blood sugar control, during the natural light invention, suggest that exposure to natural daylight is beneficial to the metabolism and so could help with the treatment and prevention of type 2 diabetes and other metabolic conditions, such as obesity, says Mr. Habets.

He adds, "Our research shows that the type of light you are exposed to matters for your metabolism. If you work in an office in almost no exposure to natural light, it will have an impact on your metabolism and your risk or control of type 2 diabetes, so try to get as much daylight as possible, and ideally, get outdoors when you can.

Natural sunlight to start the day is extremely important and crucial in setting the circadian rhythm of our bodies. Darkness at night is also crucial in maintaining the natural light and dark cycles we, as humans, are literally wired for.

GOT MIGRAINE HEADACHES? READ....

This study shows Circadian Rhythm disruption (dark days and bright nights) increased the number of these kinds of women get AND increased their severity.

The women with circadian rhythm disruption got almost DOUBLE the amount of migraines each month!

Simply increasing the amount of sleep did not fix the problem as there is a such thing as bad sleep (for instance drugging yourself to sleep with pills or antihistamines, sleeping at the wrong time or blasting yourself with artificial light from your iphone before bed and reducing the amount of released)

If you are blasting yourself with phone or tv light at night, followed by waking up and blasting yourself with more phone or screen light before you see the real sun and then spending most of the day working indoors under artificial lights, guess what?

You got major circadian rhythm disruption, dude.

Your circadian migraine prescription is...

See real unfiltered sunlight first thing in the morning before anything else. You need to reset and advance your circadian phase. This means you need to super bright light of the sun when you get up in the morning. (If it is winter and/or you can get outside in the morning you can use a bright bank of incandescent lights, a bright red light therapy machine (maybe) or a modified SAD light like the one I link to in the replies below).

Get outside multiple times during the day for circadian rhythm reinforcing and melatonin building sunlight breaks. Turn off or block all artificial light at night by wearing blue light blocking glasses as recommended by this page.

Bright days, dark nights.
