A Letter to My Grieving Self 💙

Dear Me,

I know this pain feels overwhelming, like waves crashing over you when you least expect it. Some days, it’s hard to breathe. Some days, you wonder if you’ll ever feel like yourself again.

But I want you to know—it’s okay. It’s okay to feel everything deeply. It’s okay to cry, to be angry, to miss them more than words can express. It’s okay to not have all the answers right now.

You are not broken. You are grieving. And grief is love that has nowhere to go.

With time, this pain won’t disappear, but it will change. It will become softer, woven into the fabric of who you are. And one day, you’ll smile again—not because you’ve forgotten, but because you’ve learned to carry your love forward.

Until then, be gentle with yourself. Take one breath at a time. You are stronger than you know.

What no one tells us about grief is that life after loss isn’t about “moving on”—it’s about constantly figuring it out.

Figuring out how to get through the first morning without them.
Figuring out how to answer, “How are you?” when you don’t even know yourself.
Figuring out how to celebrate holidays, milestones, and ordinary days when someone is missing.

Grief doesn’t come with a roadmap. There’s no perfect way to navigate the emptiness or the unexpected waves of emotion. But here’s what I want you to know: you don’t have to figure it out alone.
