Healthy Minds Counseling

Healthy Minds Counseling Supporting Your Journey to Long-Term Growth and Emotional Freedom. At Healthy Minds, we focus on supporting your long-term growth and emotional freedom.

Healthy Minds is a counseling group dedicated to providing compassionate mental health services. We take pride in offering a comfortable, safe, and welcoming environment—whether in person or virtually—where clients can feel free to express themselves as they work towards their therapy goals. We are currently in network with Aetna, Anthem Blue Cross/Bluss Shield, Cigna, FrontPath, Humana-TRICARE, Medical Mutual, Medicare, Optum (United Behavioral Health, United Healthcare, United Medical Resources, Healthscope Benefits) and Paramount. Services:
Our services include mental health diagnostic assessments, treatment recommendations, individual counseling and couples counseling. We use a range of therapeutic approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, EMDR, Motivational Interviewing, Solution Focused and Strengths-based Therapy. Through Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) you are able to recognize negative thought and behavior patterns. The goal of CBT is to help you identify the ways your emotions and thoughts can affect your actions. Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is similar to CBT in that it focuses on thoughts, feelings and behaviors. However, DBT has a heavier focus on finding ways to accept yourself while managing potentially harmful behaviors. Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) supports healing from emotional distress that is a result of traumatic or disturbing experiences. EMDR uses a unique approach to explore these events and process them in a way that provides long term relief. Motivational interviewing focuses on exploring and resolving uncertainty through motivational processes that facilitate change in ways that align with the person's own values and concerns. Solution Focused Therapy uses a goal focused approach in achieving therapy goals. It is future driven and allows you to focus on the solutions rather than the problems that you are experiencing. Strengths-based Therapy focuses on the client’s existing resources, resilience, and positive attributes in order to use these abilities to improve quality of life. About Us
Dori Dalton, LISW-S
Dori is a Licensed Independent Social Worker with a Supervisory designation and over 20 years of experience supporting individuals through trauma, anxiety, depression, and life’s many challenges. She is also a certified Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapist. EMDR is a proven, effective form of psychotherapy that has helped millions of people reduce psychological distress. While the exact neurobiological mechanisms of EMDR and other therapies are still being studied, it is known that high emotional stress can disrupt the brain’s ability to process information — and EMDR helps restore that process. Outside of her professional work, Dori enjoys quality time with her family, especially her grandchildren, and loves exploring new destinations through travel. Patty Hall, LSW
Patty is a Master’s-level social worker who graduated from Spring Arbor University in 2022. With a genuine passion for helping others, she enjoys working with children, adolescents, and adults as they navigate life’s challenges. Patty specializes in supporting individuals dealing with depression, anxiety, panic disorders, and stress management, offering a safe, non-judgmental space where healing and growth can flourish. Drawing from a blend of therapeutic approaches—including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused CBT, Person-Centered Therapy, and Solution-Focused Therapy—Patty tailors her work to meet the unique needs of each person she supports. She believes in the power of empathy and collaboration, and strives to empower her clients to build resilience and move toward their goals with confidence. In her free time, Patty enjoys spending time with her family and friends. Lindsay James, LISW-S
Lindsay is a Licensed Independent Social Worker with Supervisory designation who earned her Master of Science in Social Administration from Case Western Reserve University in 2018. She is passionate about supporting adults and adolescents as they navigate depression, anxiety, and the everyday challenges of life. Lindsay’s therapeutic approach blends Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, Strengths-Based practices, and Solution-Focused techniques. She collaborates closely with her clients to identify areas for growth and healing, creating a safe, supportive, and empowering environment. With a passion for travel, Lindsay has lived and worked abroad for several years. Her exposure to diverse cultures has enriched her understanding of people and perspectives. Lindsay enjoys, walking alongside her clients on their journey toward greater well-being. Samantha Trease, LPCC
Samantha is a Licenced Professional Clinical Counselor. She graduated from Bowling Green State University in 2018 and has been in practice for 5 years working in community mental health. Samantha has experience working with adolescents and adults seeking help for a variety of mental health issues. She utilizes strengths-based, cognitive behavioral, solution-focused, and motivational interviewing techniques and approaches to help individuals gain insight and meet their personal goals. Samantha is passionate about helping individuals grow, excel, and find healing in their lives. When she’s not in the office, Samantha enjoys being a mom to her twins and spending time with her family, friends, and her dog, going to concerts and musicals, and reading when she can find time. Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services. You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. Make sure your health care provider gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least 1 business day before your medical service or item. If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate. The 5-4-3-2-1 grounding technique is a simple yet effective tool to help you refocus and regain calm by engaging your senses:

5 things you can see
4 things you can touch
3 things you can hear
2 things you can smell
1 thing you can taste

This mindful practice helps bring your attention back to the present moment and can be done anytime, anywhere. A small habit with a big impact.

Imagine your mind as a bucket. Every stressor, work, relationship, money, and health issue adds a little water. If nothing gets released, the bucket overflows, and that’s when burnout, anxiety, and overwhelm show up.

Coping strategies are like taps that let the water out.

💡 To stay balanced, notice:
✅ What’s filling your bucket
✅ How often you’re opening the tap
✅ Whether the tap actually helps

👉 How full is your stress bucket today? And how are you letting some of that water out?

If you or someone you know could use support, we’re here to help.

Arguments often sound like they’re about chores, money, or timing—but the real question is emotional: *Am I important to you?*

When we can listen for the longing beneath the words, repair becomes possible.

Some days feel heavier than others. The to-do list is endless, the energy is low, and everything feels just a bit too much.
But here’s the truth: small wins count, especially on the tough days.

Small wins count too. Don’t forget to celebrate them.
