Healthy Minds is a counseling group dedicated to providing compassionate mental health services. We take pride in offering a comfortable, safe, and welcoming environment—whether in person or virtually—where clients can feel free to express themselves as they work towards their therapy goals. We are currently in network with Aetna, Anthem Blue Cross/Bluss Shield, Cigna, FrontPath, Humana-TRICARE, Medical Mutual, Medicare, Optum (United Behavioral Health, United Healthcare, United Medical Resources, Healthscope Benefits) and Paramount. Services:
Our services include mental health diagnostic assessments, treatment recommendations, individual counseling and couples counseling. We use a range of therapeutic approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, EMDR, Motivational Interviewing, Solution Focused and Strengths-based Therapy. Through Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) you are able to recognize negative thought and behavior patterns. The goal of CBT is to help you identify the ways your emotions and thoughts can affect your actions. Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is similar to CBT in that it focuses on thoughts, feelings and behaviors. However, DBT has a heavier focus on finding ways to accept yourself while managing potentially harmful behaviors. Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) supports healing from emotional distress that is a result of traumatic or disturbing experiences. EMDR uses a unique approach to explore these events and process them in a way that provides long term relief. Motivational interviewing focuses on exploring and resolving uncertainty through motivational processes that facilitate change in ways that align with the person's own values and concerns. Solution Focused Therapy uses a goal focused approach in achieving therapy goals. It is future driven and allows you to focus on the solutions rather than the problems that you are experiencing. Strengths-based Therapy focuses on the client’s existing resources, resilience, and positive attributes in order to use these abilities to improve quality of life. About Us
Dori Dalton, LISW-S
Dori is a Licensed Independent Social Worker with a Supervisory designation and over 20 years of experience supporting individuals through trauma, anxiety, depression, and life’s many challenges. She is also a certified Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapist. EMDR is a proven, effective form of psychotherapy that has helped millions of people reduce psychological distress. While the exact neurobiological mechanisms of EMDR and other therapies are still being studied, it is known that high emotional stress can disrupt the brain’s ability to process information — and EMDR helps restore that process. Outside of her professional work, Dori enjoys quality time with her family, especially her grandchildren, and loves exploring new destinations through travel. Patty Hall, LSW
