How AnaSpec’s Aβ42 peptide helped illuminate APOE4’s role in Alzheimer’s risk

A new Cell Reports study reveals how triglyceride metabolism drives inflammation in microglia especially in the presence of the APOE4 genotype, a major Alzheimer’s risk factor.

To simulate disease-like conditions, researchers used AnaSpec’s Aβ42 peptides (AS-60480-01 & AS20276) to trigger microglial activation and uncover how APOE4 rewires immune responses.

Targeting triglyceride biosynthesis may help restore balance in APOE4 microglia and open new therapeutic doors for Alzheimer’s disease.
