this week takes us back to the early 1970s, when Washington Hospital broke ground on a $9.7 million expansion to add 118 beds and meet the community’s growing health care needs. The construction marked a major milestone in our ongoing commitment to care. Founded in 1958 by residents who believed in having essential services close to home, our mission and values focus on patient-centered care and the well-being of our community.

Our reason is you.
Since 1958.

Choking is the fourth leading cause of unintentional injury death in the U.S., making fast intervention essential. To help prevent life-threatening injuries, we partnered with Union City to focus on heart health and provide education that supports community well-being.

Garrett Cordes, our injury prevention coordinator, joined the recent Heart Walk to share information on choking first aid and hands-only CPR. Teaching lifesaving skills and preventing injuries are key components of our level II trauma center’s commitment to the community. Studies show that patients treated at a trauma center have a greater chance of survival, and our team stands ready to deliver advanced, around-the-clock trauma and emergency care close to home.

Join us for upcoming walks and health information! Learn more at https://www.unioncity.org/942/Heart-Smart-Walking-Challenge.
