The holidays are joyful…but they can also bring more stress than usual. Travel, lack of sleep, overindulging, and financial pressure all add up affecting more than just your mood.

Cortisol, your body’s “stress hormone,” helps in short bursts, but when stress sticks around, it can impact sleep, recovery, inflammation, and even your emotional well-being. Here are some healthy ways to support balance:

- Get consistent, quality sleep.
- Move your body.
- Practice deep breathing or mindfulness.
- Choose nourishing, less-processed foods.

Unhealthy habits might numb stress temporarily, but healthier outlets build real resilience. Take care of yourself this season.

What you eat has a powerful impact on your body’s ability to manage inflammation and stress. According to Harvard Health, a nutrient-rich diet doesn’t just deliver vitamins and minerals, it gives your cells the tools they need to repair, protect, and thrive.

Here’s what to focus on:
- Antioxidant-rich fruits and veggies: Berries, beets, cherries, and sweet potatoes help combat oxidative stress.
- Omega-3 fats: Found in salmon, walnuts, and avocados. They counteract inflammation from processed foods.
- High-fiber foods: Essential for gut health and overall well-being.

Every meal is an opportunity to support your body, reduce inflammation, and protect long-term health. Choose foods that nourish, not just fill.

Not all inflammation is bad, in fact, acute inflammation is how your body heals itself. That’s the redness, swelling, and warmth you feel when your immune system is doing its job.

The problem starts when inflammation sticks around. Chronic inflammation can linger for months or years, often showing up as fatigue, pain, or changes in weight. It’s fueled by stress, poor diet, lack of movement, or underlying health conditions.

Long-term inflammation can impact your heart, gut, joints, and even your mood. Here’s how you can help reduce it:

- Move your body regularly (aim for 150 minutes per week).
- Eat more whole, unprocessed foods.
- Cut back on alcohol, to***co, and processed snacks.
- Prioritize rest and stress management.

From the candy to the costumes, Halloween is full of excitement, but safety comes first! 🧙‍♀️
Here are some tips for a trick-free treat:

- Pick light-colored, flame-retardant costumes
- Skip the mask — try face paint instead
- Older kids? Set a route + check-in time
- Walk, don’t run, and use sidewalks
- Bring flashlights or glow sticks
- Check all treats before eating
- Keep your walkway clear & pets inside

And don’t forget: fun can be allergy-friendly too! Try handing out non-candy goodies like stickers, crayons, or raisins.

Stay spooky, stay safe, and have a great Halloween! 🎃🦇
