Frolic in Fremont is tomorrow, 11/30. Craft sale is from 11 am to 4 pm. Lots of crafters will be there, including myself with my soaps!! If you want to venture out into this cold weather - we will be here :)

I will not be at the St Gabriel's craft show this year to sell my soaps. However it looks like they have several vendors next Saturday, Oct 26, with quite a variety of products!! Green Bay Rd & Geiger, Neenah from 9 am to 3 pm.

Soapmaker Woes: Starting to make soap for fall sales.

On Sunday - setting up the work area (getting equipment out, oils & clays, table covered, lining molds, etc) seemed to take "forever!" I start thinking "do I continue to make soap as a side hustle?" as I continue to get ready to make soap. Next came measuring out my ingredients. Getting into the groove now. Everything is temperature ready, gloves and goggles are on, and I start to mix. As I smell the oils as they are blending and watch the batch for trace, I then realize why I like making soap. Almost like baking, watching all the ingredients blend together, putting it in the oven, and out comes this gorgeous creation! I then added my fragrance oil and poured into the mold; however, my soap does not go into the oven. It just gets wrapped in a blanket for 24 hours.

I chose to start with woodsey scents, including 2 batches of Northwoods. Yes, Michael, 2 batches of Northwoods :) and all the batches turned out soo nice! Monday night, cut them into bars. They smell so good and this is just the start of all the batches I have to make. (Have note to pick up more Olive Oil and safety gloves).
