Trident San Jose Service Manager Steve Crawford, who also serves as President of the California Funeral Directors Association, recently visited with incoming Mortuary Science students, the funeral professionals of tomorrow, at Cypress College to discuss some of the opportunities that may be available to them with Trident and its partner organizations once they graduate. Throughout the day, Steve was able to speak with more than 70 practitioners who will soon be entering the field.

“Living with the loss of a child is a never-ending journey. Finding help shouldn’t be a burden, too," said Rob Reider, cofounder and executive director of the Sad Dads Club, which supports dads who have endured death of a baby during pregnancy, labor or within the first few weeks after birth. The group also welcomes fathers who have lost children to sudden infant death syndrome and those who have lost older and even adult children.

After Brad Bailey buried his stillborn son, his wife encouraged him to join Sad Dads Club, a nonprofit with peer-to-peer community and support for bereaved fathers.

Congratulations to new California Funeral Directors Association President and Trident San Jose Service Manager Stephen Crawford, who was sworn in on Monday!

We also celebrate partner organization Neptune Society Sacramento Service Manager Savannah Hall's (second from right at swearing-in) election to the CFDA Board of Directors.

Trident Society San Jose had the honor of hosting the California Funeral Directors Association Executive Committee's annual planning meeting. Service Manager and incoming CFDA President Steve Crawford led the all-day meeting of top funeral directors from across California in creating a roadmap for the coming years to support the profession in the state.

It was a special celebration as Cynthia Sanchez, Mortuary Office Specialist of our partner organization Dignity Memorial’s Rose Hills Memorial Park in Whittier, CA, was awarded the Jacquelyn Douglass Family Memorial Scholarship.

Trident San Jose Service Manager Steve Crawford and partner organization Neptune Society of Northern California Service Manager Savannah Hall participated in a California Funeral Directors Association strategic planning session. Over the course of two days, along with funeral home owners and managers from across the state, they collaborated to strengthen the association’s vision for the future, focusing on innovative solutions to better serve funeral professionals and their communities. We're excited to see the positive impact these discussions will have on the funeral service industry in California!

The group discussed planning the 2025 CFDA Convention, where Steve will be installed as president, and proposing changes to the electronic death registration system (EDRS) to streamline death certificate filing statewide.
