Do you remember how TheInsuranator lets you explore the medical health plans sold on CoveredCA, and to do so anonymously and at your own pace?

TheInsuranator is brand new! We would love to hear your comments.

Our new Web App has the same three functions as before: search existing policies, add a new plan to the search, and compare policies.

The first difference you'll notice, I bet, is that the address determines the ZIP code and the County through a Google API.

Some annoying differences that we are working one include the background loading time, and the need to press Go on every query.

The most significant difference is in the Compare-and-Go function, where policy selection takes place now. The best trade-off policies appear at the top of the graph.

Hover on a node to see the name of the corresponding policy.
Click on any number of nodes to display the matching plans in the search results, at the exclusion of all other policies.

Please let us know your comments, that will help us tremendously with this first in-house web development work.

With best regards,

Joel Malard, Ph.D.

Facebook bots will delete this page unless I post something, so here it goes.

cookiJuido's Data Observatory for Covered CA has a new ALPHA version. I think it is much better than the official release, but it needs reviews, and I'd love to hear from you.

The workflow is the same as before.

1. Search: display Covered CA policies available anywhere in California, and any demographic.

2. Design: optionally, include a health insurance policy of your own.

3. Compare: look at the available policies from cheapest at the top, to the most expensive at the bottom. [click, save, close].

It is all in javascript, no, nothing is saved server side unless you ask for it, and no cookies stay behind.

And yes, I made it.

Joel
