Sometimes parents need a place to land. 💛

That’s why I’m starting the Playful Heart OT Park Meet Up Group — a relaxed outdoor space for connection, movement, questions, and play.

As a pediatric OT, I know development happens best through everyday moments:
✨ tummy time on a blanket
✨ rolling in the grass
✨ watching babies observe each other
✨ parents feeling supported instead of isolated

This isn’t a formal class or a “perfect parenting” space.
It’s a gentle, welcoming meet up where you can:
• connect with other parents
• ask developmental or feeding questions
• support your baby’s motor and sensory development through play
• get outside and breathe a little

Whether your baby is working on tummy time, rolling, feeding, regulation, or just enjoying the fresh air — you are welcome here. 🌱

Frenchtown Park
Wednesdays 11–12 starting Wednesday, May 27
Best for pre-crawling babies

Recommending this book because it says something I see every single day in my practice…

Feeding struggles are rarely just about “the latch.”

They’re about function.

How the tongue moves.
How the jaw stabilizes.
How the body supports it all.
How the nervous system shows up in that moment.

✨ “Support what’s underneath—and feeding can change.”

That’s why I look beyond symptoms.
That’s why I assess the whole baby.
That’s why functional therapy matters.

Because when we support the system…
feeding becomes easier, calmer, and more connected 💛

If your baby is struggling with feeding, you’re not alone—and there are answers.

I want to be your pediatric OT.

Take Your Child to Work Day at Playful Heart Pediatric OT 😄

Today’s assistant was highly engaged, asked excellent clinical questions, and confidently began the oral motor assessment… despite requesting payment in snacks.

Feeding struggles are not always about hunger—they can be about how the mouth is working.

As a pediatric OT, I assess the oral motor skills that support successful feeding, including:
• Lip seal
• Tongue movement and coordination
• Jaw strength and stability
• Suck-swallow-breathe rhythm
• Oral reflexes
• Overall body alignment and regulation

When these foundations are off, babies may show signs like poor latch, clicking, leaking milk, gagging, fatigue, reflux-like symptoms, or frustration during feeds.

The good news? Early support can make feeding feel easier for both baby and parent.

If feeding feels harder than it should, trust your instincts.

TummyTime!™ Method is woven into everything I do as a pediatric occupational therapist — not just tummy time itself.

I’m always looking at how a baby’s muscular system and nervous system work together to support:
• Feeding (breast & bottle)
• Play and exploration
• Movement and postural control
• Regulation and comfort

When those systems are supported, babies move better, feed more comfortably, and engage more fully with their world.

This whole-baby approach is the foundation of my work — whether we’re playing on the floor, supporting feeding, or guiding early development.

✨ Because everything is connected.
