“My experience being an officer really opened my eyes to the amount of hurting people in my community.” — Rodney Lowery, Founder

After 16 years in law enforcement, Rodney Lowery saw a consistent pattern. Many people were carrying trauma long before they ever reached out for help, often waiting years before accessing support.

That experience led him to a simple but powerful question. What if help didn’t only come at the breaking point? What if support was available earlier, before things reached a crisis?

That question became the foundation of the Resiliency Center. A place built on prevention and early intervention, where the goal is to meet people sooner in their journey. From school-based programs like R.I.S.E. that teach children resilience skills, to accessible counseling and veteran mental health services, the focus is on helping individuals and families build strength before challenges become overwhelming.

At its core, the Resiliency Center believes trauma does not have to define a person’s future. With the right support, it can become part of a story of healing, growth, and hope.

Through our Resilience In Student Education (R.I.S.E.) Program, we empower children with tools to build resilience, grow in confidence, and face life’s challenges with courage. R.I.S.E. Coaches visit first grade classrooms to read stories centered on resilience, helping students develop strong bounce-back skills that will serve them for years to come.

Mental health support can change a veteran's life.

In this interview, Stephanie Vite shares her story as a veteran currently serving in the National Guard and pursuing a path in the mental health field. She speaks honestly about the unseen challenges many veterans face and why seeking support is a courageous step.

Her story is a reminder that asking for help is not weakness and that support before a breaking point can make all the difference.

If you are a veteran who has been struggling silently, this message is for you. You are not alone, and care is available.

April is the Month of the Military Child, a time to honor and celebrate military children and youth for their service, commitment, and sacrifice.

The 2026 theme, “Military Children and Youth: Strength in Every Story,” highlights the everyday courage of military kids. Their stories reflect resilience, adaptability, and quiet strength as they grow up in a world shaped by service and sacrifice.

We are proud to support military families through our Veteran & Family Program, which offers support and counseling for veterans and their families.

If you or someone you know could benefit, contact us to learn more.

Recently, our team had the opportunity to attend the 11th annual Central Valley Women’s Stand Up event.

This community outreach gathering connects veterans and their families with vital resources, including healthcare, housing support, employment services, and counseling, all in one welcoming space. They also create meaningful opportunities for connection and conversation.

For many, beginning clinical counseling can feel intimidating. Events like these allow us to share about our services, answer questions, and remind veterans and their families that support is available.

Thank you Central Valley Veterans for having us.
