We're always asked, "Why do you hand out free fruit and healthy snacks? What's the catch?" ❓️🤔
Wellness Wednesday was born out of the idea that health and wellness should never be put on the back burner. NCHA surveys showed that only about 3% of students eat the recommended amounts of fruit and vegetables, and we wanted to shift the narrative. 👇🏼
From rushing from class to class to worrying about that next essay, has been an over five-year tradition we have kept with one simple goal: to prioritize wellness in a quick, easy, (and sometimes fun!) wellness break! No catch, no nothing, just free fresh fruit to keep our Bulldogs healthy and well while they're on the go. 🩷
That can be done with a banana to go, a flyer you pick up while running to the Library, or even by taking a moment to ask our RD, Stephanie, questions about nutrition and other Health Center topics. 😀
