Who’s at risk?
Anyone can be at risk for skin cancer, but especially those with fair skin, frequent sun exposure, tanning bed use, or a history of sunburns.

Protect your skin:
- Wear SPF 30+ daily

- Stay in the shade (10 AM–4 PM)
- Reapply sunscreen every 2 hours
- Check your skin for changes

Eating well during cancer treatment can help support your strength, energy, and recovery, especially in the summer heat.

Here are a few tips to nourish your body this season:
-Choose hydrating foods like watermelon, cucumbers, and berries
- Opt for light, balanced meals with lean proteins and fresh vegetables
- Eat small, frequent meals to ease digestion and maintain energy
- Avoid heavy, fried, or spicy foods if you’re experiencing nausea

MEET DOMINIQUE!

Dominique, CPhT, is an infusion room supervisor at cCARE in Victorville. She leads her nursing team to provide top-quality patient care and ensures the processes are consistent with company standards and patients are authorized for treatment. She also mixes medication for patients’ prescriptions.

Dominique shared that her role is not just to calculate proper doses for her patients, but to bring them joy and laughter as they are receiving treatments. She enjoys making the patient experience as comfortable and easy as possible by answering any questions her patients might have and advocating for treatment authorization.

One of Dominique's favorite things about her work is the cCARE team. “I enjoy the team I work with. From the front office to the infusion room. I really enjoy making a positive impact on my co-workers, as well as the patients.”

Outside of work, Dominique enjoys going to Disneyland, making Disney Thursdays at the office one of her favorite work days. She also enjoys watching football - “Go Eagles!” She keeps busy as she is currently enrolled in Bible College and loves the Bible studies she attends.

A work motto Dominique values is "Truly be your authentic self. Only then can you connect with others, and build positive relationships. Laughter is the best medicine.”
