The Arc of Fresno and Madera Counties offers individuals with an intellectual or developmental disability the opportunity to succeed in a supportive environment. The services available from The Arc offer clients the necessary training to acquire the skills needed to fully become an integral part of their community. Founded in 1953 by a group of concerned parents wanting a fulfilling life for their children, The Arc began in a makeshift classroom at a local park facility. The Arc of Fresno and Madera Counties has grown from this small beginning to an organization that covers two counties of the Central Valley. The Arc serves over 650 individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities with a professional staff of 185 in eight program settings. The Arc of Fresno and Madera Counties is a private, non-profit 501(c)(3) organization.

The Arc Fresno/Madera hosted its very first Basketball Tournament for our ADP programs, and it was a slam dunk! Our individuals had an amazing time reconnecting with friends from other programs, showing off their skills, and bringing the energy to the court. Here we can see we had individuals from HTC, KTC, and LAC all brought together for this event💪🔥
We can’t forget the delicious taco truck and all the incredible individuals, families, and staff who came out to cheer and celebrate the day with us.

LAC had an unforgettable day at the Fresno Chaffee Zoo! From watching playful monkeys to spotting a speedy cheetah, and even getting up close during giraffe feeding time. It was a wild adventure full of fun and learning! 🦒🐒🐆

Learning About Recycling with LAC! Our CI group is hard at work learning the importance of recycling — not only how it helps protect the environment, but also the cost differences between materials and how recycling can earn a little extra money. ♻️🌎

Today's lesson: learning how to shave in the most fun way possible! 🪒🎈 LAC used balloons and shaving cream to practice those perfect strokes – no nicks, just laughs! 😂 Shaving skills + a little creativity = success. Big shoutout to our awesome LSC Darren Combs for stepping up and letting our individuals practice on him!
