The TALK Team: Creating communication for all children
The TALK Team: creating communication for all children... opened in 2006, The TALK Team focuses on the whole child and all areas of communication!
We are certified and licensed speech language pathologists and behavior analysts with over 20 years of collective experience. We currently offer individual therapy sessions focusing on language development, early intervention, feeding, oral placement and apraxia, articulation, language and literacy, fluency/stuttering, and behavior management. We incorporate movement, physical play, multisensory input, and hands-on activities into speech and language development. We utilize a variety of research based methods and behavioral strategies in each individualized session. Our main goal in therapy is that our clients learn while having fun! We are also available for consultation, IEP support and review, contract school services, parent education, and professional development training.

One of the best gifts TALK can give this season?
The gift of vocabulary.
Because words open doors, build confidence, and help kids be understood.
And to the parents and caregivers who trust us with their child’s voice- thank you. It’s an honor we never take lightly.

SH-adow Show!
Our SLPs are so creative — today’s “sh” practice turned into a full-on shadow puppet performance.
Speech work + imagination? Yes please.
This might be our new favorite way to practice that “shhh” sound!
Will you try this? Let us know in the comments or share it with a fellow SLP/SLPA who would!

Early Intervention Speech is about supporting your child’s communication during the most important window of brain development. Ages 1–3 are when little ones build the foundations for connection, play, and understanding—and getting help early gives them the tools they need to grow with confidence.
If your heart is wondering, it’s worth exploring. Early matters. And support truly helps.
Wherever you are, we strongly encourage you to seek out early intervention speech services.
And if you’re local, we have openings!
Wherever you find yourself this Thanksgiving… around a big noisy table, keeping it low-key at home, traveling, multitasking, or taking the day moment-by-moment, we hope you feel seen, supported, and welcomed just as you are.
We know that holidays can be beautiful and overwhelming. So please remember:
• It’s okay to arrive late.
• It’s okay to leave early.
• It’s okay to take breaks, find quiet corners, bring the snacks that work, use AAC, skip small talk, or advocate for your child’s sensory and communication needs.
• It’s okay to do Thanksgiving your way.
Our wish for you is simple: that your child’s voice, needs, pace, and comfort are respected by the people who love them- and that you feel confident honoring what your family needs today.
From our TALK family to yours, we’re grateful for you.
Happy Thanksgiving.

We’re standing shoulder-to-shoulder with current and future SLPs who deserve a professional title that reflects our expertise and protects access to the financial support needed to actually enter this field. Your voice matters, your work matters, and this moment matters.
Together, we can speak up for our profession, our students, our patients, and the sustainability of becoming an SLP. Let’s raise our voices- loud, unified, and unwavering!

Amber and Amy started The TALK Team to allow for the growth and potential of ourselves as therapists and our clients as communicators. We are dually certified as speech language pathologists and board certified behavior analysts. The blend of these two approaches has taught us a variety of ways to teach a vast amount of skills. We have had the opportunity to train 9 AMAZING therapists with the techniques that we have learned over the last 20 years along with the highly individualized skills that each has brought to TALK.
We have learned the value not only of communication itself, but thinking outside of the box to create a comprehensive, play based approach that is individualized for each child that we meet. We hold paramount that the more fun we have, the more fun our clients will have, and the more successful they will become. So let’s learn to have more fun!!
This is a place where you will find ideas and inspiration. We firmly believe that every child can communicate and flourish, when provided with the right environment. We believe that parents are their child’s first and most important teacher and we are dedicated to providing tools and ideas to help you along your journey. Every child has the capability to learn and grow and become a functional communicator! Communication is what allows us to access our environment. It is the most important skill that a child can learn. Without communication, all other skills become less functional. Children may have a ton of information and ideas but if they can’t express them, they are left untouched.
