Seconds matter in trauma. Emergency medicine and Surgery residents, faculty and the trauma division came together at UCSF Fresno to hear from Kenji Inaba, MD, Professor of Surgery and Chief of Trauma, Emergency Surgery and Surgical Critical Care at the Keck School of Medicine of USC. Dr Inaba covered multiple topics including penetrating neck injuries. UCSF Fresno’s primary teaching hospital, Community Regional Medical, consistently has one of the busiest emergency departments in the nation. In addition, the downtown Fresno hospital is a safety-net hospital and home to the only Level 1 (highest level) trauma center between Los Angeles and Sacramento.

Repost in collaboration with UCSF Fresno Trauma Surgery Program

A full-circle moment for local artist Eryn Lovik 🎨

Eryn has been creating art her entire life, but her journey into helping trauma patients heal through art began when her father became a trauma survivor at Community Regional. Now, she brings comfort and creativity to trauma patients at Community Regional every month, offering them an escape through painting.

Today, Eryn is once again making a difference, helping patients find relief through art. She not only guides them in expressing themselves but also teaches them how to paint, giving them a much-needed break from their daily challenges.

Thank you, Eryn, for your incredible dedication to our patients!
