“If they all treat redness, pigment, and texture... why so many lasers?”⁠

→ Redness might be diffuse flushing, visible vessels, or inflammation.⁠
→ Pigment could be sun damage, melasma, or post-inflammatory marks.⁠
→ Texture might be surface roughness, enlarged pores, or deeper structural change.⁠

On paper, a lot of devices treat the same categories.⁠
In practice, they behave very differently. ⁠

We don’t choose a laser based on a label. We choose based on: ⁠
→ What the concern actually is⁠
→ Where it sits in the skin⁠

Aquaphor gets asked about and recommended a lot during laser season. But here’s the part most people don’t realize:⁠
⁠
It’s not a moisturizer. It’s an occlusive. ⁠
⁠
That means Aquaphor doesn’t hydrate your skin. It just seals in whatever is underneath.⁠
⁠
If you’re using it after a treatment, the order matters: ⁠
Hydrating serum → moisturizer → then a thin layer of Aquaphor on top to lock everything in. ⁠
⁠
But it’s not right for everyone. ⁠
⁠
Aquaphor contains lanolin, which can be irritating for some, especially if you’re acne-prone, sensitive, or reactive. Used too heavily, it can also trap heat and congestion in skin that’s already inflamed. ⁠
⁠
At Revay Aesthetics, we use Aquaphor sparingly and typically only after certain ablative treatments where the skin needs extra protection during the early healing phase. ⁠
⁠
Post-treatment skincare isn’t one-size-fits-all.⁠
What you use and how you use it should match the treatment, your skin type, and where you are in the healing process. ⁠
