Hinds Hospice was honored to co-host International Overdose Awareness Day with the Zachary Horton Foundation. This day is a time to honor the lives lost to overdose, support the families left behind, and bring attention to the impact substance use has on our community. 💜

At Hinds Hospice, we see firsthand the grief that follows overdose loss. That’s why we offer our HALO (Healing After Loss by Overdose) program — a safe and supportive space where families can come together, share their stories, and find hope in healing.

Thank you to California Health Sciences University who graciously allowed us to use their facility and to the student doctors from the university's Overdose Prevention Committee who assisted at the event. Thank you to the , HALO members, Jessica Daniels from .and.ground, to the Hinds Hospice staff and to everyone else who stood with us on this important day. Your voices and presence remind us that no one has to walk this journey alone.

✨ Today, on National Grief Awareness Day, we honor the compassionate team behind the Hinds Hospice Center for Grief and Healing. Each day, the team creates a space for reflection, understanding, and support, meeting every individual where they are in their grief journey.

Through thoughtful care, quiet moments, and small gestures of comfort, our team walks alongside those navigating loss, offering presence and guidance when it is needed most. 💛

We are so grateful for our amazing team whose hearts and hands make a difference for every person who walks through our doors.
