As Volunteer Appreciation Week comes to a close, we want to say thank you.

Our volunteers are at the heart of Hinds LifeCare. They offer comfort, companionship, and support in life’s most tender moments.

They sit with patients, support grieving families, mentor children, honor veterans, and show up for our community in so many meaningful ways. Whether providing bedside companionship, supporting our grief programs, helping at community events, or serving in our thrift stores, each act of service carries our mission forward.

This week, we had the honor of celebrating our volunteers at the Fresno Arts Museum for our Volunteer Appreciation Event on Wednesday, April 22. It was a meaningful moment to gather and recognize the heart they bring to Hinds LifeCare every day.

To every volunteer, past and present, thank you. Your service leaves a lasting mark on our patients, families, and community. We are deeply grateful for you. 💙

Since 2005, Diana Farmer has helped shape one of the most meaningful traditions of the Hinds LifeCare Angel Babies Walk/Run.

Through her care and creativity, she has handcrafted over 3,200 markers, each one honoring a child who is deeply loved and never forgotten. What began as a tribute to her daughter, Sydney, and her nephew, Colten Regier, has grown into a powerful expression of remembrance for families across our community.

Her work has become part of how we gather, how we remember, and how we walk alongside one another.

Each year, these markers are thoughtfully placed at the finish line, waiting to be picked up by the families who carry their children’s love with them and taken home as a lasting tribute.
