We gathered this week to honor and celebrate our first cohort of Peace Island nurses to achieve certification through PeaceHealth's Professional Nurse Advancement Program (PNAP). Nurses are awarded PNAP certification by demonstrating competency as Clinicians, Advocates, Innovators, Collaborators, Educators and Leaders. Congratulations to RNs Shannon, Amber, Lesley, Melissa, Kate, Morgan and Janis for going above and beyond to advance the profession of nursing and improve care for our patients!

Earlier this month we hosted a special mammogram event to help break down barriers to preventive care for Latinx women in the San Juan Islands. Thanks to our incredible caregivers and community partners—including the Joyce L. Sobel Family Resource Center—17 women received potentially life-saving screenings in a warm, welcoming environment. A huge shout-out to Yubi and Adriana for their trusted outreach and scheduling support, and to our amazing caregivers from Peace Island and PeaceHealth United General Medical Center for showing what compassionate, patient-centered care truly looks like. From interpreters and financial aid assistance to pastries, coffee and gift bags, every detail reflected our commitment to access to care and reducing health disparities.
