The beginning of the year is here and many of us hope to find ways to be grounded in our intentions. How do you want to live? How to you want to enter each day? What does your mindset look like? This can be hard to pin down, but tools like vision boards and goal charts can really be so helpful. Check out the link in the bio for more information on my Vision Board Workshop coming up on January 10th. Hope to see you there!

Happy New Year 🎉 take this day to center yourself and think about what you want the next year to look like. Have the courage to be as bright and shiny or as centered and steady as you wish. Set your intention ✨ I’m hosting a Word of the Year Vision Board Workshop on January 10, 2026. Check out the Link in the bio for more information!

Another ritual of mine is to choose a word of the year for each new year and create a vision board of what I want to see happen in my life. My 2025 word was “fortitude” and I chose it because I started writing a book that I wanted to complete by the end of the year. I longed to have the fortitude I needed to make that happen. However, I encountered a health issue that plagued me in 2025 and it took a great deal of fortitude to work on my goals while my health waxed and waned. Looking at my vision board and reading over and again the meaning of fortitude and my goals for 2025, kept my attitude more positive and hopeful. If you’re interested in trying this ritual, I’m hosting a Word of the Year Vision Board Workshop on January 10, 2026. Many families have rituals around Christmas that may include the foods they eat, the Christmas Eve activities or where the decorations belong. Few things come easily in life. We experience setbacks while learning to walk, awkwardness in school and uncertainty in new jobs. But it's precisely these struggles that help us build the strength to tackle the unknown and push past our comfort zones. The end result is usually a reward that makes the hard work worthwhile✨

The holidays are often packed full of fun activities as well as financial or emotional stress. It’s easy to neglect our own needs during this time of year, leaving us emotionally drained. Self-care activities reignite and recharge us, giving us more bandwidth to manage the additional load during the holidays. Need ideas? Get a massage. Watch something funny. Take a walk. Light a candle and listen to Christmas music. Journal. Help someone. Give generously to someone in need.

Let’s face it, some of us suck at chit chat and the holidays present many opportunities for parties and social gatherings where that skill is needed. Use the acronym FORD to achieve success. Prior to the gathering, come up with open-ended questions on these topics - Family, Occupation, Recreation and Dreams. Here are a few examples: Tell me about your family. What do you like most in your job? What do you do for fun? What’s something you haven’t done yet that’s on your bucket list? Then move on to the next person and repeat. Good luck!

We all need boundaries because they protect and keep us safe from unhealthy people and harmful situations. The holidays are difficult for many of us, so if that’s the case for you, here are some important questions for you to consider BEFORE you say yes to the various holiday requests you face. Once you set the boundaries, the real work happens…..holding on to the boundary. Your family may not like your boundaries and may pressure you or harass you to change your mind. So your ultimate goal is to hold onto the boundary, even in the discomfort you are feeling from your family’s disapproval. When you keep your boundaries, remember to lean into how great that feels!
