Therapy should feel safe. Not perfect. Not always comfortable. But safe.
Not every therapy experience is a good one, and it’s okay to trust your instincts if something feels off.
Red flags in therapy can look like:
🚩 Feeling judged instead of understood
🚩 Feeling rushed before trust is built
🚩 Feeling dismissed when you share concerns
🚩 Feeling confused about boundaries or expectations
🚩 Feeling smaller instead of supported
A good therapist isn’t someone who gets everything right all the time.
But they are someone who listens, takes feedback seriously, and works collaboratively with you.
You deserve care that feels respectful, ethical, and aligned with your needs.
And if therapy hasn’t felt that way before, it doesn’t mean therapy isn’t for you.
It might just mean that therapist wasn’t the right fit.
