The dust has settled on another incredible Breck Epic! While our team provided essential medical care, we want to spotlight someone who experiences the race from both sides: Dr. Max Smolkin.

Dr. Smolkin, a hospitalist and chairman of medicine at St. Anthony Summit Hospital, just completed his third Breck Epic. His total time was 38:53:37, which included a significant amount of time due to a mechanical problem with his bike in Stage 1, where one of his pedals broke and he had to hike-a-bike most of the climbs (12 miles approximately) to complete the stage without withdrawing from the race.

His unique perspective highlights the critical role of local medical support: "The medical on-site presence is critical, more so when you have local doctors, paramedics, and EMTs, and everybody that is involved that knows the area. You feel more confident to push a little bit harder, knowing that the people are extremely professional and they're going to be able to find you and treat you right on the spot."

We're incredibly proud of our caregivers and the vital role they play in ensuring the well-being of athletes pushing their boundaries. See you on the trails next year!

Is your child between the ages of 10 and 18 gearing up for fall sports? Make sure they're cleared to play with a sports physical! We're offering walk-in appointments at our Silverthorne location, 265 Tanglewood Lane, Ste E-1, on 8/23 from 8:30 AM to 12:00 PM.

No appointment is necessary – just stop by! Evaluations will run until approximately 12:30 PM Saturday, but patients should plan to arrive no later than 12:00 PM.

Is your child due for a sports physical? We’re making it easy for patients ages 10-18 to get their physicals done before the fall season.

Join us at our Silverthorne location at 265 Tanglewood Lane, Ste E-1 on Friday, August 15 from 8:30 AM to 3:00 PM (closed from 11:45 AM to 1:00 PM for lunch), or Saturday, August 23 from 8:30 AM to 12:00 PM. Evaluations will run until approximately 3:30 PM Friday and 12:30 PM Saturday, but patients should plan to arrive no later than 3:00 PM or 12:00 PM.
