St. Anthony Summit Hospital is proud to have earned the Pediatric Advanced designation from the Colorado Pediatric Preparedness for the Emergency Room (COPPER) program. This is the highest level of recognition for pediatric emergency care in Colorado.

"Receiving the COPPER designation is an important recognition of St. Anthony Summit Hospital’s commitment to providing high-quality emergency care for children in our mountain community," said Trixie VanderSchaaff, St. Anthony Summit Hospital President. "As the only acute care hospital in Summit County, we know how important it is for families and visitors to have confidence that pediatric emergency preparedness, training, and care are a top priority. I’m incredibly proud of our emergency department team and all of the caregivers who work every day to ensure children receive safe, compassionate, and timely care close to home." https://ow.ly/seSO50Z5FAO

At our recent Teddy Bear Clinic event, our dedicated team provided complete health check-ups for every stuffed patient, from vital signs to fixing minor "injuries."

This special event was a wonderful opportunity for our youngest community members to learn how we care for everyone in the communities we serve. To all the families who brought their furry friends, thank you for making our Teddy Bear Clinic such an impactful event!

Motor vehicle crashes remain one of the leading causes of injury and death in Colorado, with more than 300 lives lost and nearly 2,500 hospitalizations each year.

Not all distractions are the same, but they’re all dangerous:
• Visual Distraction: Eyes off the road
• Manual Distraction: Hands off the wheel
• Cognitive Distraction: Mind off driving

This Distracted Driving Awareness Month, understanding these risks is the first step toward safer driving. Through the Choose S.A.F.E. program, CommonSpirit Health provides education and resources for teens, families, and schools across Colorado to help reduce crashes and save lives.
