Dear Piglet,

There are days,
I know,
when the world feels
much too large—
like a storybook
with pages
too wide to turn
and words
too heavy to hold.

And you,
small as a teacup,
might wonder
where you fit
in all that space.

But listen closely.

You fit right here—
in the hush
between heartbeats,
in the warmth
of a friend’s hand,
in the quiet courage
of simply showing up.

You don’t have to be bold.
You don’t have to be confident.
You just have to be
exactly
your small, wonderful self.

Because love, Piglet,
isn’t measured
in inches or applause.

It’s measured
in how gently you ask,
"Are you okay?"
and in how bravely
you stay,
even when your knees
shake.

It’s measured
in the way the world softens
around someone like you.
Uncertain, but willing.
Heart full of care.

So if the sky
looks too big today
If the trees stretch up
like question marks
come sit beside me.

We’ll listen
to the leaves,
and let them remind us—
you don't have to know
where you're going to land
only that the ground
will catch you.

Remember
even the tiniest acorn
knows how to become an oak.
All it has to be is itself.

Love,
Me

When a woman feels truly loved and safe, her body undergoes a biological shift from a defensive “survival” state to a “rest and repair” mode. This process is driven primarily by the release of oxytocin and the downregulation of stress-related pathways.

🗂️Scientific research into these mechanisms reveals several key findings:

▶️Genetic and Epigenetic Changes: Studies by UCLA, Tulane University and others found that women who fall in love show increased activity in genes involved in antiviral defenses compared to those who do not. Through epigenetics, positive emotional states can “switch on” genes responsible for cellular repair while “silencing” those linked to chronic inflammation.

▶️Stress Hormone Regulation: Feeling loved triggers the release of oxytocin, which directly counters cortisol (the primary stress hormone). In women specifically, physical affection like embracing has been shown to significantly reduce cortisol responses to acute stress.

▶️Reduced Inflammation: Oxytocin exerts anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects by reducing the expression of proinflammatory cytokines. This shift helps protect the cardiovascular system and supports overall metabolic homeostasis.

▶️Immune System Boost: Beyond antiviral gene regulation, oxytocin supports immune function by enhancing white blood cell activity and promoting the differentiation of T-cells. Supportive relationships are also linked to a healthier gut microbiome, where roughly 80% of the immune system resides.

The “biological force for healing” is part of a complex neuroendocrine-immune network where emotional safety signals the body that it is no longer under threat, allowing resources to be redirected toward long-term maintenance and resilience. Love really is the best medicine ❤️

3 KEY AGES!

Scientists have discovered three key ages, 34, 60, and 78, when the body undergoes major biological changes. These shifts are reflected in blood proteins that influence how our cells function, how we process energy, and how resilient we are.

At 34, the first subtle changes appear as the body’s youthful repair systems begin to slow, shaped by lifestyle and environmental factors. By 60, metabolism slows more noticeably, muscle mass and cognitive function may shift, and the immune system weakens. At 78, the body’s repair mechanisms decline sharply, making it more vulnerable to illness and aging-related challenges.

Knowing these milestones allows us to act early. Eating well, staying active, managing stress, and supporting cellular health can reduce the impact of aging and help maintain vitality, strength, and overall well-being well into later life.

Six weeks to recover from childbirth? Try two years.

New research is overturning the widely held belief that postpartum recovery lasts just six weeks.

A study published in the European Journal of Obstetrics & Gynecology and Reproductive Biology reveals that a woman's body may actually need up to two years to fully recover from childbirth.

This extended timeline includes not only physical healing—such as organ repositioning and tissue repair—but also significant hormonal shifts and changes in brain function that evolve gradually over time. These internal processes often go unnoticed, yet they are essential to restoring overall health and well-being after pregnancy.
This evidence reframes how we think about maternal care, pushing back against the notion that new mothers should quickly “bounce back.” Instead, the findings advocate for sustained medical support and social understanding throughout the long-term recovery period.

From managing postpartum emotional health to monitoring neurological and hormonal rebalancing, the research underscores the complexity and duration of true postpartum healing. As such, it calls for healthcare systems, employers, and families to adapt their expectations and better support mothers well beyond the six-week mark.
