I have to be honest, I totally jumped on this trend.

I wrote my own coffee with my younger self post, but then something happened. I kept seeing other people‘s posts. I kept reading their words, I kept feeling it in my body - waves of recognition, memories surfacing, my own younger-self whispering, I remember that too.

One of the kindest things we can do for our inner child is show them a life that they don’t have to find an escape from. Just show them relationships that they don’t have to hide parts of themselves from. To show them presence that they don’t have to dissociate from. To show them what it’s like to live inside a body that is safe to inhabit and a world that can be safe to belong in. This relationship between adult you and little you is one of the most sacred ones there is.
