People caught in a disaster-devastated area always need clean water. By clean we mean without bacteria – the little unseen critters that make people sick with diseases like cholera. Without it, they cannot maintain their health and strength and they cannot begin recovery. Just Water CEO, Ron Mathis and the Texas Baptist Men’s Water Ministry, the group Ron serves with and is a past chairman, are very aware of the importance of potable water. They travel to impoverished or war-torn parts of the world and into places wrecked by natural disasters. Using Just Water filters, they’re making a big impact on people’s health – often giving them clean water for the first time.

Texas Baptist Men are providing Just Water Filters to help over 200,000 people in the Philippines. Each water filter provides clean drinking water for one family for an entire year.

Texas Baptist Men are helping to assemble 10,000 filters for Just Water LLC to ship to the Philippines. Channel 4 and Channel 11 were here doing a story that air on the Organization's efforts. Terry Henderson, Texas Baptist Men Disaster Relief Team, is discussing with News team efforts of Texas Baptist Men partnering with other Baptist organization in the Philippines. Cholera has now been detected in some of the drinking water and left unchecked could potentially cause more deaths than the hurricane itself.

Last year, Bob Young and Julio Campos from TBM traveled to Venezuela where missionaries Delia and Paul Lozuk were stationed. The group, along with Jose Angel Gonzalez (pictured), strategized about how to share clean drinking water with six remote areas in Venezuela (see starred areas on the map). Jose is searching the country for 3,000 plastic buckets to build the water filtration systems using the filters donated by TBM. Jose is setting up appointments to teach men and women how to use the water filters and share the Gospel. The logistics of this operation are complicated becuase of distance, transportation and cost. Please pray for Jose Angel and the Lozuks as they continue to minister and share the "Living Water" in Venezuela.
