A bit of an unusual post. This year has been hard for so many reasons. My partner and I wanted to come up with a way to bring a different vibe to 2026.

Sure, there's pretty pictures. But we've replaced the typical calendar days with tons of International and National Days. From National Coyote Day and Pollinator Week to International Lego Day and Talk Like A Pirate Day. But also serious days like MMIW and Coming Out Day.

At the bottom of each month, there's a collection of things that month has for awareness, like May being Ehlers-Danlos Awareness Month.

Zebra Anecdotes: Surprise MCAS

Me: Eating some Thai food at a new place.

My body: 🤔 what is this??

Me: It's Pad Thai. You've had this before

My body: Ummmm.....I dunno....

Me: It's fine. This is good!

My body: 🤢

Me: Seriously? Here... here's some water

My body: 🤢

Me: Oh FFS.... fine. We're done we'll go home.

My body: 🤢

Me: 🙄 Now we're home. Do you feel better?

My body: Well.... the stomach feels better...

Me: Fantastic

My body: BUT....

Me: ........but what.....

My body: Look at what we did!

Me: 👀

My body: It's a really bad rash on your shoulder!

Me: I......I see that.

My body: It burns pretty bad though

Me: Uh huh... and what caused this now?

My body: 🤷🏽‍♀️

Me: ....... WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU DON'T KNOW?!

My body: 🤷🏽‍♀️ We're pretty sure something was there that was dangerous.

Me: .... such as??!!

My body: 🤷🏽‍♀️

Me: ..... thanks.... so helpful

My body: 😁 We help

The Pain,Pain Go Away Salve from The Spork Witch just arrived!

I will absolutely be replenishing this when I run out. This stuff has really impressed me, and let me tell you why so you can head over there.

When you first open the tin, there's a light scent. No dramatic wofting of perfume that you would swear needs a cartoon pink cloud as backup. No no. It's like if you wandered into the grove of Chiron himself in Ancient Greece. A comforting yet mild blend of medical herbs, light citrus, and a hint of woods. The smell quickly dissipated after being rubbed in, which is perfect for those sensitive to scents.

But of course that's not all.

I've used the butter version before and it was lovely, but I can say that the salve works faster. It's not overly waxy (which is a textural concern of mine) so there's no sticky residue at all. Very slight sensation of warmth, but not like a tiger balm tingly warmth. This is a very natural warmth. I used it on a knee that had been recently dislocated and had stayed very upset. While the wise thing to do is still wear my knee brace, the pain salve significantly reduced the pain to where I'm comfortable and able to focus on work.

And the cherry on top? You're supporting a disabled creator that has EDS.

Just to note, this is in no way a sponsored post. Just an honest review on a product that works for me. 🦓🖤

Does that mean Tylenol Back Pain (with muscle relaxer) causes EDS?!
🤣🤣🤣

I solved it. You're all welcome.

*please note this is pure absurdity. In this house we take pain meds, we vaccinate, and we don't trust an idiot with a brain worm to give us health advice

Zebra Anecdotes: No filter

Lady: Omg! I need to see your hands!

Me: *in a deadpan voice* they're medical splints

Lady: What for? You look quite healthy!

Me: I assure you, I am not.

Lady: Oh I'm sure it's not all that bad.

Me: My insides are made of trash.

Lady: Well when you get to be my age...

Me: Ma'am, I spent the last month jumping medications and doctors as we tried to figure out why I couldn't breathe only to finally realize it was just my own immune system trying to kill me and nobody knows what to do so we're just bandaid-ing it until we can hopefully find other answers. My joints dislocate on a regular basis. My guts try and shut down. And my body can't regulate temperature or my heart hate. I'm sick. My body is exhausted. I'm normally happy to explain in less harsh ways but I'm currently quite ill without a clear path for recovery and don't have the ability to be nice about it.

Lady: ........oh......um.... well...... that's...... I'm sorry

Me: Cool. Imma go.

That feeling when the specialist you were sent to by a previous specialist because you were outside of their experience says you're beyond their scope of practice and they don't even have a suggestion of who else to see. 🤣🤣🤣🫠💀
