There are 4 factors that that are 🔑 to a beautiful abdominoplasty:

1. Shape/Curves✅
2. Muscle definition/Highlights✅
3. Low scar in bikini line✅
4. Natural bellybutton✅

They’re all necessary and important but the most important is natural bellybutton. It’s the single most factor that prevents women from having the procedure. The reason I think it’s the most important is it’s the most difficult to correct if not done well the first time. I’m not saying bellybuttons can’t be revised, but some can’t be revised. So, the best way to avoid a bad one is to have it done correctly the first time.

She got Smart…and the looks that kill. This 56 year old mother of 3 had what I consider to be a routine mommy makeover-a breast lift and tummy tuck. And she also has an excellent result, which is also routine for my patients. Not bragging, just fact. I consider myself an expert at these procedures. And that is not just some arbitrary title I’ve bestowed on myself. Most believe it takes 10,000 hours of doing a particular thing to become an expert at that thing. I’ve been doing plastic surgery 23 years and in private solo practice 21 of those. I’ve logged well over 10,000 hours performing breast and tummy surgery. So, there you go. That being said, one person’s result does not guarantee another’s. But if your body looks similar to this patient’s then you can expect a similar result. There are always factors such as different skin quality that can affect an outcome. If your body looks totally different then your result will be different, but still very good because I carefully screen and choose my patients based on the result that I think that can obtain. Ok. I love when patients send me their own follow-up pics. Seeing a result in a natural setting as opposed to a sterile exam room pose really brings it to life. And it really emphasizes the impact the procedures have had on their lives seeing them wearing bikinis 👙 they would never had worn previously. This particular patient’s result is spectacular. But I can’t take all the credit(unfortunately 😉). Through healthy lifestyle of diet & exercise, she’s down 35 pounds since day of surgery. Without that, she’d have a really good result. With it, it’s a whole other level. That’s synergy. The sum is greater than the individual parts.

There are multiple factors that can negatively impact your result once you’ve left the operating room including nutritional status, innate quality of your skin, pre-existing medical conditions, smoking, etc. The goal is to go into your procedure as healthy as possible and then once cleared begin a regular exercise and healthy nutritional program and you will be on your way to a Smart Synergistic result like this.

The eyes are the window to the soul. So, if your eyes give the impression you’re tired or old, but you are neither, blepharoplasty may be a great option for you. Upper & lower blepharoplasty can be performed as a a combined procedure or separately. They are also completely different procedures. Upper eyelid surgery is essentially excision of excess skin to eliminate hooding of the lid. This hooding is bothersome when applying makeup and can even impair vision if severe enough. The goal of lower eyelid surgery is not skin excision, but rather elimination of the bags that can develop under the eyes. These bags are caused by fat that naturally sits under the eyeball but begins to bulge with time. By removing or repositioning the fat causing the bags, the tear trough below is also eliminated. The tear trough is the hollow area under the bags that can cause the appearance of dark circles. This patient underwent both upper & lower blepharoplasty simultaneously. Notice how refreshed & natural she appears. The exact impression she wants to give when someone looks into her eyes.

Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday. You heard that right. For me, I find it to be far less stressful than the Christmas holidays. It’s just a time to be together with family and friends and be thankful for everyone & everything in my life. And Thanksgiving dinner is my absolute favorite meal of the year. I’m thankful for my career as a plastic surgeon and being able to make a positive impact on so many people’s lives. I’m thankful for every patient that trusts me with their body and I’m especially thankful when I get pictures like this from happy patients. In her message with these pictures she thanked me for making her feel the best she’s ever felt in her own skin.
