Here are 4 things I look for during every scalp analysis:
1️⃣ Follicle health — are they open, closed, or miniaturized?
2️⃣ Buildup — product, oil, or dead skin blocking growth?
3️⃣ Erythema — signs of inflammation or irritation? 4️⃣ Density — how many follicles are thriving in each zone?

Most people treat their hair, not their scalp. Here’s a quick guide to the 4 scalp types + care basics.
NORMAL: cleanse weekly, gentle pH shampoo, optional monthly exfoliation.
OILY: cleanse 3-4d, 2 light lathers at roots, weekly BHA/enzyme; avoid heavy oils on scalp.
DRY: cleanse 5-7d, pre-wash oil/cream (thin), humectant + lipid tonic 3–4×/week.
SENSITIVE: patch-test, fragrance-free minimal formulas, barrier support 3–5×/week.
