We are excited to offer THREE different group options to support our communities, especially communities of color. Groups will be led by our wonderful graduate student intern Chassidy Wooten. The group she offered over the summer was such a great and healing experience for members that she is offering more groups with variations to include a wider range of individuals. Click on the link below to register, and/or please share with others who may benefit.

Intimacy isn’t just physical — it’s emotional, spiritual, and deeply human.
True connection comes from feeling safe, seen, and supported in the little everyday moments.
How do you show love without words or touch? 🌿

In communities of color and immigrant families, therapy has always been here — in the kitchen, at the dinner table, in our music, and our stories.
Healing isn’t new to us — it’s just spoken in our language. 💛

Fascism thrives on the myth of “national purity.” It divides people into “true citizens” vs. “outsiders,” demanding conformity while erasing diversity. What looks like unity is actually control—built on fear, exclusion, and the false promise of strength through sameness.

When we bottle up emotions to “keep the peace,” our bodies often carry the weight instead. Headaches, chest tightness, insomnia, fatigue, and even digestive issues can all be signs of unspoken feelings.

Your body speaks what your voice suppresses. Healing begins when we give our emotions space to be felt and expressed.

Erasing memory is the first weapon of oppression. When books, culture, and history are destroyed, so is identity. The fight for justice is the fight to remember, to resist forgetting. ✊🏽📚

Have you ever tried therapy and felt like it just wasn’t working? You’re not broken — the system often is. 🧠✨

Here are 3 science-backed reasons why traditional therapy can fall short — and why a decolonized approach matters:
1️⃣ It’s not one-size-fits-all
Traditional therapy often assumes the same model works for everyone. But healing is deeply personal and shaped by culture, identity, and lived experience. What works for one person may not work for another.

2️⃣ Healing must include the nervous system
Talk therapy alone can’t always reach the body’s trauma responses. Research shows our nervous system holds stress, trauma, and survival patterns. Without addressing this, many people stay “stuck” no matter how much they talk it out.

3️⃣ Power and oppression matter
Mental health doesn’t exist in a vacuum. Systems of oppression — racism, sexism, colonialism, classism — shape how people experience trauma and healing. Ignoring this means ignoring the reality many communities live every day.

👉 Decolonized therapy looks at the whole person. It honors culture, addresses the nervous system, and acknowledges the impact of systemic oppression. This is how we create real, lasting healing.

💬 What do you think — have you ever felt like traditional therapy missed something important?

At Cognitive Revival PLLC, our clinicians are here to walk with you through that journey of healing and connection. You don’t have to carry it alone.
