High blood pressure, also known as hypertension, is a very common diagnosis. Many factors go into developing high blood pressure such as activity level, diet, BMI, and genetics to name a few. Some symptoms of patients with high blood pressure experience include headaches, vision changes, and even chest pain. However, most patients do not have any symptoms and may not know they have high blood pressure unless they are checked. That is why high blood pressure is known as the silent killer.
Consequences of high blood pressure over a long period of time include heart disease,
kidney disease, and stroke. It is very important that we find the diagnosis sooner rather
than later. Treatment of high blood pressure consists of lifestyle changes such as diet and
exercise or medications. If you think you may have high blood pressure or would like more
