Frostburg Rehab Center hosted our first St. Patrick’s Day pub crawl. Residents began the crawl in our main dining room, at our Booze and Tattoo’s Pub, where they were able to get a temporary tattoo and sample some green beer and listen to Irish tunes. They were sent on their way throughout the community to sample mocktails, snacks, and try various activities. Our memory care residents were engaged in their own pub with drinks, activities, games and music. Dietary served a special meal of corned beef and cabbage and Leprechaun cake. Resident and staff had a great time interacting throughout the community. Thank you to all of the departments, staff and residents that made our first pub crawl memorable!

Frostburg Rehab Center Employee Spotlight!

Meet Eric Wilhelm. Eric has been employed for 29 years in various roles. “I started as a volunteer in my senior year in high school and loved the environment. This is what inspired me to work in long term care. What I enjoy most about my role as an activity aid, is seeing the residents engaged and having fun at activities. What sets us above the rest is working in a fast paced environment, where we work together to assure residents are engaged and enjoying themselves. I would describe the team culture , fast paced, energetic, resident focused. I am proud to work here because within the department I work we are more like family than coworkers. I look forward to coming to work daily to interact with my residents in Memory care. I feel the leadership team offers daily support by always being available to answer my questions and lend a helping hand when needed. Working here feels like family!

Who says Friday the 13th is an unlucky day? Not here at Frostburg Rehab Center! Residents decorated love bugs on Wednesday at crafting. We then gathered to race them. Engines were revving, and dice began to roll, residents raced their cars the length of our main dining room. There was much laughter and cheering from the stands for their favorite racer. Our first place winner was Carol, pictured taking a victory lap in her car!

Frostburg Rehab Center will be hosting an Easter Carnival in our Main Dining room this year in place of our annual Easter egg hunt. We are so excited about this event because it will give our residents the opportunity to volunteer at various activity stations working with the children attending.

Make plans to be with us on Friday April 3rd from 2-4 pm for an “Eggstra” special good time

Music Express Disc Jockey Frostburg will be providing music. There will be photo opportunities with the Easter bunny, who will be hopping by to say hello!

Frostburg Rehab Center just received a shipment of fidget mats hand crafted by the Fidget Chicks! This is an organization of ladies that devote their time and talent to hand craft these lovely mats for residents with dementia. We cant begin to express enough gratitude for the love and kindness crafted in to each one of these mats! God Bless you Fidget Chicks in your present and future endeavors, providing moments of joy for our memory care residents!

Employee Spotlight at Frostburg Rehab Center!

Jenn is a dedicated worker that has been at Frostburg for 26 years. Jenn enjoys getting to know and learning about her residents. Jenn states that we have a good positive team culture here. She says “I feel leadership always listens and tries to make our jobs less challenging. They are always thankful for the hard work and care we provide to our residents. Working here feels like home and you can be such a positive impact on the residents.”

We gathered for our Annual Super Bowl Watch Party at Frostburg Rehab Center! Everyone enjoyed pizza, wings, snacks, and ice cream! Some came for the food, some came for the game, some came for the commercials. All came and had a great time, socializing and cheering on their favored team! Oh and yes there were a few die hard fans that stayed to the end!
