Butterfly Effect Lemonade - it's always magical and fun to see the color change that happens when adding acidic citrus to blue infusions which changes the pH. The color continues to change and intensify as the Butterfly Pea flower ice melts.

Spent this Earth Day like most of my days, outside in the woods around my home appreciating all of the plants, birds, and other wildlife that I'm fortunate to know and visit with. It is truly my medicine in so many ways. I hope you enjoyed some outdoors time on this lovely day.

I gathered some young Black Birch twigs and wild Spearmint for making yummy beverage syrups. I'll be serving some springtime mocktails during the Arts Walk on Saturday, and hope to see you there.

Warmer weather means it's time for shrubs again. I first make an oxymel with fruit and/or herbs, organic apple cider and a little honey and let it extract for a few weeks. Oxymels can be taken directly, but I love them with some sparkling water in a shrub beverage. The sour taste is cooling to the body, and shrubs are a refreshing way to cool down.
