Tired of your doctor just telling you to rest and take a few weeks off every time you visit them?
Here’s why this is NOT the approach we take: (make sure you read #3!)
You become deconditioned - this means that the strength, cardio, and fitness levels you’ve worked to attain will decrease quickly if you’re not active. Even if you’re a runner and you break your foot, there are still many options to maintain your cardio and lower body strength that you’ve worked hard for.
Your injury will not heal faster - choosing active recovery and injury rehabilitation will help you recover quicker from injury and allow you to even have better movement patterns and overall stability after recovering from the injury!
It is not the best long term option (not even close!) - even if resting helps your pain and inflammation go down in the short term, you have not done any strength, stability, or mobility work that your muscles, ligaments, and tendons need to be resilient against future injury. The #1 predictor for future injury is a previous injury!
