Day 1: What is hidden beyond the horizon?

Your character sees something unusual in the distance. What is it, and why has no one seen it until now?
My story....
I have driven this road every weekend for ten years. I swear to you, I believed that I had each cabin, building, shack and half pipe memorized. On this day... I was looking for the beauty between the trees, the big animals that I want to see, but then, after I see them, I want them to run and hide for their safety. I was looking in all of the dark corners watching for movement.
Starring out the window Tim takes a deep breath and the points. There stands the biggest bull moose I had seen in 10 years. He was majestic. He must know people, I thought. He is letting us watch him, be near him and he isn't not running away.
But then.... there appears a younger smaller bull, less confident and hiding behind his much more experienced friend. This younger bull was stealing some of his bigger friends confidence and coming up through the brush to see and be seen. He knew he was protected.
Is this so weird? This is exactly how I felt today. I had been in the middle of a job interview for the 90th time and suddenly, because someone sensed my nervousness, they boldly led me into new questions that I knew I could answer. This person, who didn't know me at all asked the questions and guided me into a new confidence that opened a new conversation that I knew I could lead.
Is it just me, or is it a walking blessing to have someone "sense" what you need and then subtly guide you in a new direction?
How do you do it? How does one "notice" and then act upon something you know will serve someone else? How can we be the person that offers an hand up when someone needs it?
I am so curious about wether humans notice this. Do you notice when you're the hand that needs help or when you are a helping hand? I want to know. I want you to tell me.
