Ancora Health Services: Hospice-Palliative-House calls

Ancora Health Services: Hospice-Palliative-House calls Locally owned and operated, Ancora promotes and supports patient, family, and community-centered care with trust and compassion.

We welcome you to Ancora Hospice. In Latin, Ancora means support, refuge and anchor. Our Hope is to provide you and your loved one a place of refuge and support you as you navigate through this journey. We desire to provide the best end-of-life care experience possible. We understand this may mean something different to each individual due to beliefs and life experiences. You may have noticed our logo includes a tree. This was intentional and symbolic. The roots represent the connections and relationships which anchor us throughout life. The trunk, bark, and branches represent the impact and influential reach each of us has on the world around us, while the silver color represents and acknowledges the wisdom and value our patients bring to our lives. You will also notice the trunk is a bit gnarled and bent - acknowledging a life lived and the imperfection we often feel. The green of our leaves represents the growth and learning we experience throughout the duration of our lives. As you look up into the canopy of a tree, you will notice that every leaf is different. This signifies how the people we serve have their own uniqueness and individuality. We want your experience with Ancora to be specific to you and your family. We, the owners of Ancora, have served in hospice for many years. We understand the value of highly trained staff to help you in your journey. It may be a difficult journey, but we will be here to support you. Our staff will help in management of physical pains and discomfort, as well as social and emotional needs you and your family may have along the way. Together we hope to make this experience as good as it can be despite the circumstance in which you find yourselves. Lastly, know that we care about you! We care about your hopes, dreams and everything in between. We care if you are comfortable, clean, warm, dry and most importantly respected. We hope you feel the trust, compassion, and support that we promise to give you with every interaction you have with us. We are honored for the opportunity to serve you. Sincerely,

Cindy Lee, RN - Owner, CEO/Administrator
Dani Castro, RN - Owner & COO
Billy Galligar, MD - Owner & Chief Medical Officer

We’re grateful to share a recent Idaho News Channel 6 story highlighting our Emmett Grief Support Group we’re honored to co-host with Horizon Home Health & Hospice and Potter Funeral Chapel.

This is a powerful reminder that caring for our communities truly takes a village. At Ancora, we know we can’t meet every need alone, and that’s why partnering with compassionate organizations like Horizon and Potter Funeral Chapel has been so meaningful and impactful.

Together, we’re creating space for healing, connection, and support when it’s needed most.

Potter Funeral Chapel is hosting Emmett's first free monthly grief support group, open to anyone who has lost a loved one 🕊️

This Thanksgiving, we pause with gratitude.

At Ancora, we are honored to walk beside our patients and their families during some of life’s most meaningful moments.

Today we give thanks for:
🧡 The families who welcome us into their homes
🌿 The strength and courage of those we serve
🤝 Our dedicated care team who leads with compassion
đź’› The tender moments of connection that remind us what truly matters
As we gather around tables big and small, we are reminded that gratitude can be found even in seasons of challenge, in shared stories, gentle hands, quiet presence, and love that endures.

From our family to yours, Happy Thanksgiving.
May your day be filled with peace, comfort, and moments of heartfelt connection.

🦋Children’s Grief Awareness Day 🦋

Every child who has lost someone, especially a close family member, carries that loss with them. They may return to school, rejoin activities, and seem “back to normal,” but inside, there’s often a space shaped by grief that never fully goes away.

Grieving children frequently feel different from their peers, alone in their experience, and unsure who understands. In every school and every community, there are children silently carrying the weight of loss.

We can help them feel less alone.
Children and adults together can show grieving kids that they are seen, supported, and valued by honoring Children’s Grief Awareness Day.

Holding On to HOPE
When someone we love dies, the pain can feel overwhelming. While grief lasts a lifetime, the intensity can soften. There is hope, hope that it won’t always hurt as much, hope that life will grow around the loss.

Today, and every day, we can show grieving children: “I care, and I’m here.”

Exciting News!
Camp ZOE Grief Camp is joining with the nonprofit Ancora Legacy Foundation to bring a transformational children’s grief camp to Ontario in June 2026. It’s the same meaningful Camp ZOE experience you know, now strengthened by a beautiful new partnership.

What Hospice Includes: Whole-Person, Holistic Care

Hospice care is different from other types of health care because it focuses on your whole self , body, mind, and spirit, not just your illness. This approach is called holistic care, and it means we see you as a person, not as a diagnosis or set of symptoms.

🩺 Care for the Body
Hospice teams manage the physical symptoms of serious illness, such as pain, shortness of breath, nausea, fatigue, or loss of appetite, with the goal of maximizing comfort and quality of life, not extending life at any cost.

đź’ Care for the Mind and Emotions
Emotional well-being is just as important as physical comfort. Hospice care provides space and support for patients and families to process the emotional realities of serious illness.

🕊️ Care for the Spirit
Spiritual care in hospice is not about religion alone, it’s about helping you find meaning, connection, and peace, whatever your beliefs may be.

❤️ Support for Families
Holistic hospice care extends beyond the patient, it embraces the entire family unit.
