B. F. Tussing becomes a Payette County Commissioner in the newly formed County. He served as a comissioner in Nebraska prior to coming to Idaho. From age 32 until age 43, B. F. serves as Buffalo County Board Supervisor. and continues in multiple capacities during his service to the County Board (from 1889 until 1901) in ranging from County Board Supervisor, County Board Commissioner, Chairman of Board and serves on multiple committees, often concurrently, for School Lands, Bridges, Finance, Court Claims, Court, Public Lands and Building, Roads, Bonds, and Poor. In addition to being on the Buffalo County Board, it is reasonable to assume B.F. continued tending to his walnut orchard, and other farm crops.

We are fortunate that B.F. was not inspecting the bridge alone, and there were other County Commissioners with him, when the ice under the bridge cracked and B.F. fell into the freezing waters!

Just when you thought you might KNOW SOMETHING FOR SURE!
LOL, there is a very, very good possibility that the house we all know and love, and refer to as BF's second house is not, and has not ever been his home at all!

In communicating with Reece Hrizuk, he informs me that this property on 117 SW 4th Street house, the beautiful aqua colored house with the fancy gingerbread gables, often referred to as "The Tussing House," never shows Tussing owning said property.

Reece has performed a chain-of-title search on the 117 SW 4th Street house, Lots 8, 9,10 of Block One of the Original Townsite of Fruitland. No Tussing appears in the chain-of-title. That house was built by John O. Johnson, who owned the mercantile located at 222 SW 3rd Street (currently L and L enterprises).

He also sent me the original deed, attached here. The deed is dated 1910, that house was probably built by Johnson in 1907-1908, because Johnson had to pay the taxes for the lot going back to 1907.

Reece, further says, and is conducting another chain-of-title search on a property located at 305 SW 4th street, Fruitland, for which he says the gables more closely resemble the photos we have of BF & Family and BF & Friends in front of that house. It would appear, if this is the REAL 2nd BF Tussing house that the front porch has been remodeled.

And, the property that Reece wishes to purchase is actually the property on 704 SW 3rd Street.

I COULD NOT HAVE GOTTEN IT ALL MORE WRONG. LOL. 😆
