Becoming a Foster Parent is one of the most meaningful ways to transform a young person’s life. Across the country, nearly 400,000 children are in foster care, each hoping for the same thing many of us often take for granted: a safe and steady home.
Many kids arrive in care carrying layers of loss, fear, or instability, and the presence of a nurturing adult helps them relearn trust, consistency, and connection. Crittenton’s approach centers these needs across all our programs, ensuring that families and youth receive wraparound support whenever they need it.
The impact extends far beyond the home. Children and adolescents with stable placements are more likely to stay engaged in school, maintain healthy peer and adult relationships, and access mental health care, extracurriculars, and community resources that expand their opportunities. Our team works side-by-side with Foster Parents to provide 24/7 support, case management, mentorship connections, and tutoring services that strengthen each young person’s path forward.
Foster Parents can be single or married, renters or homeowners; what matters most is compassion, safety, and a willingness to support a child or teen through a critical season of their life.
When a young person experiences a home that believes in them, everything shifts. They feel seen. They feel valued. Anything feels possible. The ripple effect of that support can last a lifetime.
