Modern Health Talk (mHealthTalk.com) Consumer info about health reform policies and modern technologies for home healthcare and aging-in-place. That’s where Modern Health Talk comes in.

Feel free to post, and please visit http://mhealthtalk.com Modern Health Talk (mHealthTalk.com) serves the Sandwich generation with information about Aging-in-Place and Home Healthcare and serves Industry with information about Healthcare Policy and Futures. My aim from posts shared here is to help lower healthcare costs and improve quality of life by promoting modern tech solutions for home healt

h care, aging-in-place, mHealth, telehealth, etc. As baby boomers retire and live longer, our nation faces a critical need to replace institutional care (hospitals, nursing homes & assisted living) with more affordable options such as aging-in-place at home. Innovative technologies can help make our multi-family or private homes safer and healthier places to live, but how does one find them and decide which is best? It helps fill a niche not covered by online support groups. At mHealthTalk.com, I write about low-tech solutions such as home modifications and universal design principles, as well as high-tech solutions such as wireless sensors, home health gateways, remote monitoring services, artificial intelligence, and healthcare robots. I also write about the politics of health reform and the future of healthcare. Modern Health Talk is an altruistic venture, founded by me, Wayne Caswell. As a retired IBM technologist, marketing strategist, and consumer advocate, I bring a unique perspective to the challenges and opportunities of modern healthcare. And I encourage respectful discussions of these issues. Feel free to comment, add your own posts, and share your perspective.

Daylight Saving Time begins after midnight Saturday, so get ready. But know this — the debate is not just about gaining more sunlight in the evening for shopping and play. Losing morning sunlight is harmful for our health. Which do you prefer?

Here's How to Prepare for the Time Change from Daylight Savings Time to Standard Time, and the Reasons You Should.

MEMORIES AND LEGACY VERSUS JUNK

You might ask what you want people to know about you after you die, but will they? Or, will they just see all the stuff you collected as junk and ignore or trash it? That includes your digital media too.

What do we remember about our parents or grandparents years after their passing? How will we be remembered by others? Record it now.

Today I offer a summary of ten articles that relate to the looming healthcare policy debate. I share this because Republicans already have said they want to gut the Affordable Care Act, but anything they may want to replace it with will almost certainly be far from universal healthcare, cost more, and deliver inferior results.

Here's a summary of 10 Robert Reich articles exploring why American capitalism, and healthcare, is so rotten.

CES 2024 (What’s Hot in Consumer Electronics?)

Modern Health Talk (facebook.com/groups/1422609114937883/) followed CES so you don't have to. Scanning, reading or watching my 30-some Facebook posts will save time and money.

You will also almost certainly gain more insights about important technologies than if you visited the week-long show yourself, and you can do this with no travel costs and far less time. Comment on these posts to share your opinion or let me know of some thing I missed.

ABOUT CES: The International Consumer Electronics Show is massive and spanned more than 2.5 million square feet. Its 4,000 exhibitors filled the expansive Las Vegas Convention Center and spread into nearby venues like the Venetian Expo, Mandalay Bay, Eureka Park, ARIA hotel, and beyond.

As you can imagine, attending such a huge show in person would be exhausting. I know -- I've been there dozens of times in my tech career. This year, as I now often do, I followed the activities online and shared what I found most interesting in Digital Health and Smart Home sectors, often adding my perspective.

QUICK LOOK: Here’s a 1-min clip to show the size of the show. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mqnQc8a8W2s
