🎄 THREE WISHES FOR CHRISTMAS

🎁 Yesterday, we asked our residents a simple question: “What do you want for Christmas?”

The answers were beautiful — from diamonds to Whataburger, from quiet moments to family reunions. Some were simple, some extravagant — but all were deeply meaningful.

💍 Diamonds may symbolize a love once shared.

🍔 Whataburger was someone’s first taste of America.

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Family represented a longing for connection and wholeness.

🖊️ Every wish carried what we call an emotional signature — a story, a memory, a piece of their heart.

✨ It reminded us: gifts don’t have to be expensive — they just need to be meaningful. Often, it’s the simplest gestures that make the deepest impact.

💛 Our team is incredibly grateful to be part of their journey where we get to listen, connect, and care in ways that truly matter.

Your thoughtful initiative brought beauty, warmth, and the spirit of Christmas into our Aspen Cove home. Our grandmas and grandpas absolutely loved it — and your kindness made the season feel that much brighter.

Congratulations to your entire association for creating something so meaningful and impactful to the amazing The Brookwood Community and the scholars and grant recipients alike. We are grateful for you and all you do.

💛 Purpose doesn’t retire.

🎁 Yesterday, our staff, grandmas, and grandpas lined up like Santa’s workshop to wrap pajamas for kiddos in need under the guidance of Two Lives Changed — a local non-profit that supports young, single parents and their children with resources, education, and hope for a stronger future.

✨ What may look like a simple task gave our seniors something powerful: purpose. At every age, meaningful work matters.

🙌 In true Aspen Cove style, our team turned sorting, labeling, taping, and folding into something fun, joyful, and deeply purposeful.

☺️ A small act for a big cause — and our staff, volunteer, grandmas and grandpas loved every minute of it.

🎄 Keeping Traditions Alive

💛 Today, something beautiful happened at Aspen Cove.

🎄We gathered around our tree with some of our beloved grandmas and grandpas to hang Christmas ornaments—a simple tradition, yet deeply meaningful. Some ornaments sparkled, others showed their age.

✨ Yet, there are some special pieces that told a deeper story—of family, of milestones, of laughter and love through the years.

👵 We believe these traditions matter. They help our grandmas and grandpas feel seen, connected, and cherished. We’re not just decorating a tree—we’re honoring a lifetime of tradition that made them who they are.

And that, to us, is what the holidays are truly about. 💛

🦃 Our grandmas and grandpas caught a turkey big enough to feed a hundred people!

Yup, I was the turkey.
Yes, they hunted me down for lunch.
And YES — we all had a great time laughing 😂

💛 Who knew a simple, silly activity could bring so much joy? Seeing the big smiles from both our grandmas, grandpas and team made every sweaty second in that turkey suit so worth it.

☺️ A smile and a good laugh truly are some of the best therapies in the world — they lift spirits, create connection, and remind us that fun doesn’t have an age limit.

🙏 We feel so blessed to be able to bring moments like this to our residents.
And I’d do it again in a heartbeat.

🪻 It’s more than watering and weeding. It’s about staying engaged, passing down knowledge, and nurturing life — even in the later seasons of life.

🙌 These simple moments — planting together, sharing tips, watching something grow — remind us that purpose doesn’t retire. In fact, having something to look forward to each day becomes more vital than ever.

🔥 Purpose gives identity. It gives pride. It keeps the mind sharp, the heart full, and the spirit alive. Whether it’s gardening, storytelling, or lending a hand, residents here still want to contribute — and they do.

💛 Aspen Cove Turns One with Two Lives Changed

👵 A year ago, we opened the doors to Aspen Cove Assisted Living with one mission in mind: to celebrate and support each individual senior based on their unique capabilities, preferences, and personality.

🏡 But from the very beginning, Michelle and I believed our impact had to extend beyond the four walls of our home.

🦃 So, instead of throwing a party for ourselves, we chose to celebrate our 1st anniversary by supporting Friendsgiving with Two Lives Changed (TLC) — a local nonprofit near and dear to our hearts, where we both serve as board members.

💡 TLC provides a safe, loving, and faith-filled community for young single parents (ages 13–30), helping them break generational cycles and build empowered, purposeful lives. These young parents are taught real-life skills — things school never covered — like budgeting, nutrition, parenting, emotional resilience, and self-care. They also receive spiritual support and mentoring to help them grow into strong, confident individuals. They have 6 locations in TX- Brookshire, Rosenberg, West Houston, Cypress, San Antonio and Hemphill.

🙏 Why TLC Matters:
1 in 5 teen births is a repeat teen birth 🔁
67% of teen mothers who move out on their own live below the poverty line 💸
30% of teen pregnancies end in abortion 💔
3 out of 10 teen girls will become pregnant before the age of 20 👶
📉 These are not just numbers — these are lives. And these are the statistics TLC is committed to changing. Thank you, Robbie Perrine, for driving this change.

🇺🇸 HONORING THOSE WHO PROTECTED OUR FREEDOM 🇺🇸

🙏 This morning, we had the privilege of joining a room full of heroes at the Veterans Breakfast — men and women who put everything on the line so we could live with the freedoms we often take for granted.

🛠 The freedom to build.
🏡 The freedom to raise our families in peace.
🗣 The freedom to speak, worship, and live boldly.

🫡 Freedom isn’t free — it’s paid for with courage, sacrifice, and service. Being surrounded by those who answered the call was a humbling reminder of what leadership, honor, and commitment truly look like.

💛 To every veteran — we thank you. Your sacrifice echoes through every opportunity we have today.
