Wisdom Teeth! The recommended age to have your wisdom teeth removed is 16yrs - 25 yrs old to decrease risk:
1. when the jaw bone is softer
2. the roots are not fully formed near the nerve
3. and infection/abscess is NOT present
Indications to extract wisdom teeth:
1. impacted or stuck crooked behind the molars
2. food trapping causing infection, pain, bad breath and cavities on the molar in front of it
3. cyst formation when the follicle starts to trap fluid
4. need for proper orthodontic alignment
