Dino-week has been dino-mite at Day Solutions!! We've made dino-fossils, became paleontologists and went on a dino-dig, played pin the tail on the dino, walked like and with a dinosaur, played dino-games and brushed dino-teeth!
Whew! All this dino-fun has us worn out for this week, but we know there's always something exciting in store for us in the days to come!

Did someone say National Cherry Day?!?!
Today, we learned that "sweet cherries" aren't necessarily always sweet and that you shouldn't rule out all cherries just because you may not like one kind. Most of us hadn't heard of Rainier cherries, but we all agreed that they deserve a thumbs up from us!
We also made a cherry, cream cheese dump cake. The whole building smells delicious and we can't wait for it to cool so we can enjoy it tomorrow!

Our June Spotlight was on Mr. Curt!
Curt has been with Day Solutions Callaway for two years. He provides our friends with outstanding, individualized one-on-one support in the community. His great smile and big laugh are contagious.
Curt has been married for 13 years, has 3 children and 10 grandchildren. He enjoys music and going to his grandchildren's ball games. His favorite place to visit is Glacier National Park.
Curt loves making a connection with our clients - and it shows! He is very well-loved by everyone here. His favorite memory at Day Solutions so far is the day he took a client, who was afraid of the water, to the swimming pool and they both had a wonderful time! Curt's co-workers' favorite memory with him so far may very well be when he lead us in our own rendition of the song "No Matter How High I Get" during the karaoke contest at the Day Solutions Company Christmas Party.
Curt says if he were a hashtag, it would be and we agree.

Brenda Gibson and our favorite friendly goats, Star & Thumbelina, came to see us today! We also visited our friends and played BINGO at Churchill Terrace and we finished the day celebrating National Pecan Sandies Day!

If a national day involves food, you can bet that the DS2 Crew will be whipping up something yummy! National Omelet Day and National Iced Cookie Day were big hits; but, celebrating National Apple Strudel Day a day early and à la mode was the pièce de résistance. 😋

Our May Spotlight of the Month was Daniel, who's also known as Danny, Danny Boy, and Dr. Dan (due to his thorough hand washing skills that are much like a surgeon's). Daniel was one of the original Day Solutions, Inc. clients when they opened 10 years ago and we feel very fortunate that he decided to join us at Day Solutions Callaway when we opened in 2022.
Daniel is a very friendly, cuddle bug who enjoys listening to music, singing, dancing, bowling, riding 3-wheeled bikes, and watching and imitating The Three Stooges. He likes helping with daily chores such as vacuuming and making his bed and he prepares his own lunch every day.
Daniel says his favorite memory at Day Solutions so far is playing basketball at the YMCA with Mr. Curt.
