Exercise prevented breast cancer cells from recurring in a recent study of breast cancer survivors. As Upstate exercise physiologist Carol Sames, PhD, explains, muscles that are exercising produce substances that can suppress the cancer cells' growth. https://www.upstate.edu/informed/2025/102325-sames-podcast.php
This adds to the large body of evidence on the healthful effects of exercise, although further study will be needed to flesh out details of this process.
